Checking In (Been Away)

I have been in a real struggle with the weight coming off.  At 9 mo out I stopped losing.  Now it is almost 14 mo after surgery and I am still maintaining.  While I am happy to maintain, I still have 61 lbs to lose to get where the doctor wants me.   If that is not attainable I will consider my body's other offers lol, but I want to be at least under 200#.  I got 6# to go to get there but I have been holding onto that 6# off and on since November 09.  Getting in the vitamims and protein has been a struggle.  Giving up diet coke is a challenge.  I should never have started.  I had another surgery not related to this one and had to give up the gym for 6 wks.  I got the go ahead a few days ago to start back up.  I got my own treadmill now and have been using it regularly so I am making progress in the exercise dept.  The suppliments are coming around now I need to work harder on diet and diet coke.  While I don't eat as much as I used to, I often end up eating bad choices.  I simply don't know what to eat.  I used to see a dietician but now I don't have the coverage to see her.  If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it.  Also I can't seem to find it online, but does anyone know a site or something that shows good arm free weight exercises?  I used to do them in the gym with the machines but now I don't go there anymore.  Thanks for listening.  I will try to stay in touch more often.

Hi Jimi,

Did you print off the instructions provided by BOTT.  These guidelines are very helpful.  Protein 1st and 5 pouch test also is helpful for some.  Me personally I went back to the basics of eating mostly protein or protein 1st.  If you concentrate on following the guidelines set out by your doctor initially you will get under your goal.

Regarding exercise do something different.  Mix it up.  Do you do interval training on your treadmill?  Changing the inclines?  Fast walking for spurts at a time.  Using hand weights on treadmill.  A sports good store will have many things for you to use at home for strenght training exercises for arms.

Hope this helps!  You can do it!  Keep posting.
