Thursday Cardio and Cafe

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is day #4 of my re-commitment.  Again, yesterday did not go exactly according to my plan, but it did go a lot better then if I had not made a plan.  I have noticed that I need to be aware of my thoughts and movements in the evening when everything is quiet.  I think my days are so filled with work and life's demands that when evening comes and the demands are so much less, I am like a fish out of water.  I really need to concentrate on enjoying my down time and using it to relax and de-stress.  My head keeps saying I'm hungry during these times and I nibble.  Although I nibble on healthy foods, I find that I am getting too much of the good things!  So with this in mind, I have placed packages of gum throughout my home so when I feel the urge to put something in my mouth, I will have gum available.

For today I will continue with my plan of 6 mini-meals and make sure I get in all my water.  I have come to realize that when I am dehydrated, I actually want to eat more and feel very very sluggish.  So I have bought several flavored, non-carbonated waters so I will be enticed to drink more than just my minimum.

I have another addiction now, STRAWBERRIES!  I have to be careful not to eat more than one serving a day because they cause acid sores in my mouth and throat.  I went to the Raleigh farmers market last week and got educated on the different types of berries.  I never realized the different varieties and how they differ in their texture, shape and intended sweetness.  I purchase a very large basket (large enough to have a handle) and I have eaten them all by myself in less than a week. 

Isn't it interesting at how our addictions or impulses have changed since surgery?  Although I have changed to healthier options, I still go for the "all or nothing" mentality.

Well I have rambled on enough for now......................

My plan for today is as follows:

PB: coffee w/Protein drink as creamer
B: Click, Chocolite, Almond milk frapp
S1: Proti chili mixed w/ Proti tomato soup
L: Salad greens, radish, tomato, cucumber and ham chunks w/ LF dressing
S2: Protein bar
D: Greek yogurt w/ scoop protein mix, sf syrup and sprinkled with granola
S3: cheddar cheese and strawberries

OK, so Quick Reply is the only way to post a reply again today. Oh Well, such is progress. Also, have you noticed the "No Friends Online" message at the bottom of your screen, they must be getting ready to have the instant messaging feature. I think that is a good idea, not sure if everyone will like it.

L - taco
s - almonds
D - Chicken & Veggies

Morning everyone,

So today didn't go like plan, I forgot we were having a pot luck at work and boy I just love those, but I did limit myself, so tahts good.  My mom arrived in town today for a weekend visit and so tonight dinner was pizza, I do plan to keep not go overboard while she is in town.

Visits are not about the food, but rather the visit itself.  I'm just so glad she is out here, her mother has been in the hospital for almost three months straight and so she needs the break and I hope to be able to share with her a very nice and relaxing weekend. 

I wish my mom was in better health where she could go with me to the gym or go walking with me but she is not in the greatest of health herself and when I see her like this and she is only 61, I tell myself I do not want to be in the same position at such a young age like her.  So I have to do everything in my power to gain my life, gain my health.
