My dr's nurse said no sugar over 16g per serving - have never heard about yogurt and milk being exceptions. But check with your dr - every dr/nutritionist has different guidelines and when you follow your dr's specific guidelines, if you are having problems he/she will know where to check in order to help you. Sounds as though you've already done that. I tend to read a little, zap off a reply and then read the rest - not a good habit

All nutritionists and bodies are different. At the time of my surgery (over 3 years ago) she said no more than 10g per serving. NOW she says no more than 5g per serving (meal).
I have never tested a certain limit, but try to stick with the 10g rule.
I never heard about milk and yogurt not counting. Some yogurts have mucho, mucho sugar!!!!!
