Hi Everyone,

If you are stuggling at this point and feel really down and like a failure again, PLEASE DON'T  .  Let's talk and find out where the speed bumps are.  If you are not losing, take a serious honest look at your food, exercise and most importantly YOU.  I think most of us have been logging our food and exercise and the truth will be there.

Are you getting in your protein first?  At least 100 grams or more?  Are your drinking water first and getting in "all" of your water?  Are you staying away from fried foods, fast food, white foods and white carbs?  Are  you at least walking, doing something to move.   If the answer to any of these questions is no, then we need to dig deeper.

The challenge is not just about losing weight, it's about finding the issues that prevent us from doing so.  The tracking of the food and exercise is just a tool, to find the hidden reason why?  Take a look at your logs, and if it was a bad day, write down what was going on that day, how were you feeling, was it a stressful day?  What caused the stress and did you turn to food?  What could you have done to turn it around?  What could you have done instead of reaching for food?

I think our next challenge will be looking deep and discussing our feelings and what makes us turn to food.   Thanks for listening and I WILL NEVER GIVE UP ON ME OR ANY OF YOU!!!!!

Take care,
Kathy

Hi Sally,

I didn't want to have something that was going to make everyone feel bad and or like a failure.  Lord knows we have all felt that enough during out lives.  I have only lost 3 pounds and not using a number on the scale to determine success.  What I have gotten out of this is I am doing things I have not been able to get myself to do alone.  I am logging my food more, writing about my feelings again, pushing water, not drinking during meals, and even though I still can't walk getting back to exercise.

I have had food in my hand and put it back knowing I would have to log it and come here and post it!!!!

So in my book this challenge has helped me big time.  I hope everyone will judge the challenge in that manner not just the darn scale.

Take care,
Kathy

Kathy,

Thanks for this post.  I am looking at this all wrong.  I am watching the scale and dwelling on those cravings.

I should be focused on what I have accomplished since 2005 and since I got back on track Dec 28, 2009.  Since 2005, I have lost 160 lb.  but after falling off the plan and getting back on I have lost 8 lb., back exercising and enjoying it, and have not been sick at my stomach (at all).  The scales are not my only reward........my other rewards far out - weigh the scales.

And.........last week I got thru my "TOM" without one cramp.  Normally I have to take Tylenol around the clock.

Thanks Kathy!  I need to focus on the positive not the negative.

have a great day!
Janet
Have a blessed day!

Thank you Janet,

I was feeling so bad that this challenge was making so many feel bad.  If we do this next month and only if we want to.  I think we should make it a daily thread where we come and annouce and share what we did positive that day.

Feeling good about ourselves makes us feel we deserve all good things life has to offer

Take care,
Kathy

Hi Kathy,
This is what I really needed this morning.  I have been kicking myself for not really sticking to my meal plan.  Food demons all around me at work and in my head.  I remember when I first began my WL journey NOONE could get me to eat anything I wasn't suppose to eat.  I have a journal that I carried with me and I wrote in it daily.  I checked this morning to see when is the last time I physically wrote in my journal...October, 2008.  When I look back at my gradual weight gain...that is were it all began.

Today, I made it a point while packing my things for work to make sure my journal was in the bag, and tonight when things slow down...instead of walking down to the snack machine I will write down my feelings for the day.  Not only post my food menu on the board, but keep a physical copy to reflect back on...was it a good day or a bad day.  Since getting back into my exercise rouine seems to be a problem...start off with 10 -15 minutes at a time. I know I can work my way back into my usual 45 minutes to an hour.

I took a lot of flack from family and friends about having WLS.  I was always the misfit and the butt of the fat jokes.  Their are so many people around me waiting, and wanting me to fail.  I won't give up on myself, and I thank you for not giving up on me either.

Hi Lisa,

We are so glad to have you here.  This challenge was to help us together get back on track..some have not done well on the "scale" and feel bad now.  That is NOT what this is about.  We need to identify what tools got us to goal in the first place and put them back in place in our lives.  We may have to do one at a time, but we can do it!!

Take care,
Kathy

Oh man Genie,

Just give me their addresses and I will go kick some butt girl    That is what I had hoped would come out of this challenge is helping us identify what we have let go of and get it back.

You are soooo right, if we don't log our food we have no control.  We have to get back our control...

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Don't let them be right Genie show them what you are made of!!!!

Take care,
Kathy
