Hi Ginny
I just went to my surgeon today and am going to have sclerotheraphy done.  So I was very happy to hear from someone who had it done.  Keep us posted.

I am on day three now and am starting to feel better.  I got in a couple of good walks yesterday which helped (even though it was raining as usual!).  today I am going in search of dried egg whites to help pump up my protein intake.  I am not able to drink enough yet to get the protein.   My hair is already thin....I certainly do not need to lose any!!

I found some at a health foods store a while ago.  I have not opened them yet.  I use Egg Beater Egg whites and am VERY surprised I do not mind them.  Just curious how you are planning on eating the dry.

Now another question.  I am understanding that this process shrinks the bottom opening of the pouch so our food stays in the pouch longer.  Am I correct?

The dried , powdered egg whites go into a chicken broth (kind of a fake egg drop soup).  When I had my gastric bypass, my nutritionist suggested it.  From what I remember it was a nice change from all of the sweetness of the protein drinks.

From what I understand, the stoma is the opening that allows food to empty from the pouch.  When the stoma stretches, it allows too much out too quickly and then we are hungry again.  In my case, my pouch isn't enlarged so I was eating small amounts but would be very quickly hungry again.

It seems to me that this procedure has put a stop to that!
