Thyroid Meds

I read recently that if you take thyroid meds you should not take iron and calcium for 4 hours. Calcium and Iron  stops the body from obsorbing the meds. My throid has been out of wack. I think I have found the problem that my PCP couldn't find.  This just might be part of my weight gain but it is not that alone. Please let people know this for I am so glad I read it. I had a thyroidectomy a year ago for cancer,I chew my thyroid pill on a empty tummy upon rising then wait at least an hour before i take anything else and I do not take a generic thyroid pill this was my instructions.I take my calcium in the afternoon.Remember we weign in on Friday.
