Why did you opt to have WLS?

Who has already had surgery? If you have, which did you select and why? If you are researching having WLS, why? 

Often, we don't going thru the "whys" with ourselves. We just decide we need a surgical solution and begin the process of insurance approval. It's such a huge decision, with lifelong consequences, that it's good to be a little introspective and ponder why. 

I'd encourage everyone to share their own experiences. Where are you now? Pre-op or Post-op, why you are researching WLS or had it done, what you hope to get out of it and the associated goals or expectations you have. It might be helpful for all of us to start a dialog on this group about it.
