I thought I would introduce myself as well.  I actually live in Phenix City, AL (just across the river from Columbus, GA), but haven't found an active support group in our area.  Since I'm only 1 1/2 hours away from Atlanta, I decided to check out ATL support groups that meet on Saturdays.  I'm 34 years old and have just begun the process of chosing the surgeon, picking the right surgery and the best part...the paperwork! LOL  I really hope this isn't a long drawn out process. I've been on OH everyday for the last 2 weeks just trying to soak in as much information as I can.  I don't want any surprises!  My first "consult" visit is Feb. 4th and I'm really looking forward to meeting Dr. Williams.  I've been considering WLS for 2 or 3 years. 

Cynthia, I just joined the group about 2 1/2 weeks ago.  I am currently on hold waiting for my surgeon to give me a date for the surgery - and feeling very anxious, antsy, etc.  Since you wrote in 2009, I'm hoping that you have had the surgery and can let me know what to expect.  Thanks.
