Almost a year and I'm still here!

No it's not my bandiversary! I was banded 6-18-07. I was referring to my motorcycle accident on March 8, 2009. I can't believe it is almost 2 weeks until March 8th. My life really was put on hold during my recovery from the accident. I couldn't exercise and I was very depressed. I ended up gaining weight, 32 lbs, during that time. So, it's nice to feel like I am getting back into my daily exercise routine and making heatlhy eating choices.

What's great about WLS is that it doesn't let us stray too far off course. Yes, I gained some weight during my difficult time of recovery and being sedentary. But, once I kicked back into gear, the weight has started coming back off.

Today, I am 4 lbs from being the weight I was on March 7th, the day before my accident. Could I reach that weight by March 8th? Maybe but it's not as important as continuing to make healthy lifestyle choices everyday. I'm also putting an emphasis on weight lifting to try and develop a physique. I want to look and feel good more than just focus on what the scale says.
