Hope this works for you. My iron stays on the low side, but my labs in May had my iron at 12. That is low, but high for me. I have been taking iron pills every night. I am trying to avoid the infusion. The last time they said they would not give me shots again, but I would have to get the infusion.

Hope the infusions do the business!  I have a few Atkins bars left for emergencies and to stick in my pocket just in case I start having blood sugar problems during exercise, otherwise I want to do without them if possible...

Thanks for the advice.  I think I'll stick to my peas, broad beans and tomatoes for a few more weeks then introduce  very small quantities of raw veg to see exactly what I can tolerate.  I really don't want to stretch my sleeve as I'm fighting head-hunger all the time at the moment.  LOL!

I went to hematologist today and he ordered iron infusions. Daily for 4 days. 
I did like the guy.   He assured me that following my history - I am just not absorbing the iron and or - have a small leak somewhere there... we will know once i get the infusion and then we can monitor the blood after that. If the numbers start dropping rapidly - it would mean that I have a small leak somewhere, if not - then most likely - it is just absorption issue. 
For the time when they would monitor me - I am told not to take any iron by mouth (unless it is food). So I would not have to eat liver every day... lol...
Next week I will start that.  Apparently they will give me that over 3-4 hrs IV form.
I am really tired today.  I did not have my B12 shot this week... (weekly) - was not really sure if they would take more blood and did not wanted the B12 to  be too high right after injection.

But the doc decided that he has enough data and does not  believe he needs to drain the person any more than they have to.  

eats today will be easy...
coffee + Al milk
raw milk homemade yogurt, cheese
more coffee with chemicals (in doc office)
yogurt with proteins + flax meal + blueberries
bigos (polish dish =sauerkraut + meat)
protein shake
some food - meat + veggies.
fruits... + whip cream...

Paul. For  along time I had a really hard time with raw veggies. Even now - I will have some, but still - not very often.
cooked, broiled, grilles, or just (most often) sauteed - are my best choices.
Some I eat raw , but not that often - mainly some small salads (green lettuce just does not like me that much). I will not eat any raw carrots, they always come back.  The raw veggies that I tolerate - in small qty are peppers, and cucumbers. And squash. Yellow squash.  I mostly eat that finally shredded or julienne - in a yogurt sauce.   But taht mostly as a snack and in evenings. My pouch gets bitgger as the day goes by.
