I LOVE the honesty and accountability!! You ROCK!!

I too am battling the same thing with behavior...it is a daily thing. What helps me is journaling...a lot of times I end up writing down reasons as to why I overate...or ate the wrong thing...or even eaten for the wrong reason. I then read aloud to myself ...this reaffirms things for me.
Then I look at what I could do differently next time.

We can do this!!

**PIC ADDED!!!**

I tried this today and BOY am I glad I did! Not only was it easy to make but this will last me for a few lunches/dinners this week!  I'm single and pinching pennies, so meals like this go a long way!

Low Carb Crockpot Chicken Dijon

4 chicken breasts with or without skin
3 Tbs olive oil (or any other)
2 cloves garlic minced
3 Tbs white wine *optional*
2 Tbs soy sauce
2 Tbs Dijon mustard
**I added 1/2 c chicken broth for more moisture**

Heat oil in a skillet. Add minced garlic and cook 3 minutes, stirring often. Add chicken breasts and brown. In a separate bowl, combine wine, soy sauce and mustard and mix well. Pour generously over chicken. Put all in crockpot and cook for 5 hours on high.

Try this, you WILL love it!!

Hi, my name is Donna Kelley.  I am 59 years old and live in Mass.  I had lapband surgery April 2006.  I started at 315 lbs and had to lose 145 lbs.  I have lost 80 so far.  Are you asking, "Gee, she should be at her goal right now"?  Well, the problem is SUGAR.  I need to get off of the SUGAR.  I have the new Atkins book but I do not want to do the induction part.

My question is, how many carbs should I do a day to lose weight.  I don't care if it is slow I just want to LOSE.  Should I eat full fat dressings, cheeses, ricotta etc...?  Or should I buy low fat items.

Thank you WhackaDoodle for starting this group.  I am a leader for a face to face meeting North of Boston, MA.

Any feedack would be appreciated.

hi my name is Linda went on my first "diet" at age 20, but it wasnt until after i had my 2nd child through a c-section that i actually really started to gain weight.

I do put alot of it down to the fact that i used to walk everywhere i wanted to go but after getting my drivers license that changed to driving everywhere.

I did lose 40 lbs on atkins a few years back but with the death of my father inlaw things soon fell to the way side and carbs came back as they had been prior.

my highest was 230 but 227 by the time i got to see my surgeon then down to 222 by the time i had surgery.  the lowest i got down to was 135 but christmas and new year saw the carbs creep back in and then  regain of 6-8 lbs.

I am trying to eat fairly low carb but because of bad constipation issues even with fiber pills, i have decided to add strawberries and blueberries to my greek yogurt and will look at adding raw broccilli, cauliflower and celery. when i next go grocery shopping.

I absolutely love Taubes.  I have been following his diet and to my surprise it works.  I read where he stated that you are less hungry on high fat and you know what I, personally, am,.  I have absolute zero hunger just like from when I was fresh out of surgery.  I have yet to read his book, but I read about him in the readers digest and i researched him online.  He is GREAT!  I think I may have to buy the book.  BTW I have lost several pounds since I started following his diest AND going to WW meetings and using their eTools.

Welcome aboard!!!

Many of us here did the diet rollercoaster thing ... I keep thinking about how I assiduously low-fat dieted my way up to 315, so I can relate!

Congratulations on such a significant weight loss!!!

"lower 48" = the geographically continuous United States "under the Canadian border" == the US not including Alaska and Hawaii.
