Monday 2200...

Tomorrow I will have:

2 scrambled eggs with 1 oz cheese
2 Atkins bars
2 packets Ryvita Minis
Corned beef, mushroom and onion soup
Gammon
Coffee and fruit teas.

If I don't lose anything by Sunday, having cut out 3 ozs of cheese a day, I'll drop the coffee.  Considering taking a knife to my loose skin!  LOL

Thank you for the welcome.

The HCG diet is based on a document/ study /paper/whatever called Pounds and Inches, by Dr Simeon.  It is a diet where one would inject herself/himself with Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin, a horomone found in ....pregnant lady urine. ( Now there are oral drops, in addition to injections.)  The dieter eats 500 calories or less a day, with measured meals of lean meat and a small portion of vegetables.

Hi Renee,

Welcome to the group!  We love getting new members as we all learn so much from each other.  Thanks for posting those links.

I'm not familiar with the HCG diet.  Can you please tell me about it?

Hi Pam,

Welcome to the group!!  Wow on your weight loss and ability to maintain all but those 15 pounds.  What a big accomplishment that is!  I think we all have things to learn from you so I'm glad you're joining us.

I read the Atkin's 1972 edition.  That's the one that counts all carbs before it became "net carbs" etc.  Others have read the other books.  I think the principles are the same. Cut the carbs.  So whatever works for you.

I joined WW last fall because I want another layer of accountability when I get to maintenance.  There's a leader that I really like so I don't mind going to the meetings.  I'm not counting points at this time but I do know what my 29 points look like.  I track my food in myfitnesspal .com because i am still in the counting calories/protein/carbs stage for me as I try to get to goal.

Welcome!!!

It sounds like you had a great Valentine's celebration!  Your food sounds so yummy.

I too like those seaweek snacks from TJ's.  I just eat them straight out of the package.  If I want cream cheese on something I at the pork rinds which I just bought last week after many years not eating them.

Friday was the walk around the lake by my house.
Saturday, the first hike was in the redwoods, then the next 4 miles were in San Francisco.
Sunday I walked in the hills near a friend's house.

All different walks so all stressed different muscles.  I was definitely tired out by last night!

How are you feeling?

You can do it Holly!!  I stopped those carbs on 1/10/2011 after having a little flirtation with carbs over the holidays.  It gets easier daily to resist.  You're doing great!!

Hi Paul,

I had to cut out the bacon to start losing again.  Bacon seems to be a maintenance food for me at this point because I'm very sensitive to the sodium.  I think that Gammon is ham which would also be loaded with sodium. How much water are you drinking to compensate?

Many people also say that the atkins bars cause stalls for them.  I stopped eating any protein bars when i started Atkins on 1/10/2011.  This morning starts a new week for me.  I'm down 3 pounds for these weeks.  It's not a lot but it's more than I was shedding the month previous.  I too am in that "close to 100 and goal" stage and I think I just need to really be careful of what I eat.

The atkins bars have a lot of carbs.  Maybe having something else to fill in where you're eating the bars?  I'd change one thing at a time to see what it is that helps you let go of those pounds.  Maybe it's the bars, not the cheese?

 You can do it, Paul!

May I ask what "Gammon" is?
