Atkins and Low Carb Weight Loss

Understood. I don't cook much either but I replaced the shakes with meats simply baked/ roasted or pan fried. Wls is forcing me to cook more for variety.
One thing I do is bake several items at once. Say a package of chicken, pork chops, a london broil, meat loaf etc. Mccormack makes many types of seasoning mixes with oven bags. All in oven at 350 for about an hour and I can eat for one to two weeks. Freeze same day and heat slowly on low power for a longer time and it will not taste like leftovers.
Also, I will bake or fry with very simple seasoning then reheat with sauces like teriyaki, curries, ponzu, sf bbq etc. Dried herbs and sf salad dressing go well on veg hot or cold.
There are lots of options for limited cooking time/ skills/ equipment. If thats why you prefere two liquid meals I think folks here can help. Perhaps its time for an easy to fix every day eats thread.
But I have also learned that my body can be tricked into better behavior if I give it artificial sweetener, carefully doled out, and keep my fat intake high.
Wi**** wasn't so. But I do know that I will always find a way back to sugar. So I have to really limit its availability at my home. Because I will ALWAYS ALWAYS go back to it.
When it comes to low carb, I will do OK for a while and then my stomach will refuse to eat another low carb meal for a while. Carbs are so easy to digest. When my stomach feels a little hinky I want bread, potatoes and crunchy car by things. After a while meat and veggies cry out for me to avoid them.
Someday, I will find what will work for me in the long term and hopefully I will be able to enjoy eating that way.
I am doing OK so far today and tonight I am going to have boneless pork chops and a nice salad with full fat sesame dressing. I always love my salads no matter what.
Edited because spell check sucks.

Hey y'all ... what else do you carry?
1) On Atkins you should be getting plenty of "free" vegetables, and lots of fat -- These things alone should make you poop. Please do make sure you are getting enough fat and enough vegetables!
2) These things seem to help me -- real coffee, and also if you can gag it down, a tablespoon of olive oil though it's pretty revolting is very effective;
3) These ground-flax muffins are yummy, low-carb, and extremely effective poop-motivators:
Cinnamon Muffins!!! -- only one gram net/effective carbs
1/4 Cup Flaxseed Meal
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon Splenda (optional)
1 egg
Mix everything together in a coffee cup. Cook for one minute in the microwave. Turn the cup upside down to take the muffin out. If it looks wet, let it sit for a minute or so. I have these for breakfast. You can add blueberries, or try other additions. Some people add a tablespoon of cream cheese before cooking.

Hi Everyone, my name is Stacy, 41 (gulp). I had lap band in 2007, never lost a pound, had it removed April of 2010 and in November I had a DS..I love my DS, it was the best decision I ever made, however I do absorb all carbs, and I am a carb-o-holic...so I know I need to do Atkins (did it once before for a solid year, lost 100lbs and gained it back it seems overnight). Looking for some support/ideas/recipes.
If you want to do low carb you will almost have to use something like Miralax or you won't be able to go.
Maybe some others who have had more luck getting fiber will chime in too.
good luck,
Holly
