Darn you woman... Darn me for joining this tread... just kidding... This group makes me accountable for my carbs,  Since I started here - I did not have one RH episode... I got close to one ... but only because I had dinner early one night, went to bed and took me a while to have breakfast the next day... so it was more like "hypoglycemia" and not RH.

Thanks guys.

Yesterday was not so good  low -carb day.  I still did OK, just have probably more than 70 net carbs... (can you say "ouch"?)

Today is going to be better,

so far had 25 net carbs.   But it is past noon here and I have a lot of low carb - protein mostly food that I like so I am going to be OK.
Plan to have no more than 40-45 net carbs today.  Maybe even less than that,.

The only problem I have with sugar alcohols is a huge amount of stinky gas!

LessieBelle just posted that she's making a wrap out of seaweed, and I think she means Nori -- But what a great idea for a protein-style wrap!

Nori is very thin, dried, seaweed wrap -- usually sold by the package in the Asian section of many grocery stores.  The product looks like this, and is usually used to make SUSHI:

What you do is lay it flat (ideally on a sushi mat, but not everyone has this) and layer it on one edge with your sandwich goodies, THUS:

I often add cream cheese and lox to mine -- or leftover chicken, or whatever we decided not to eat the night before.  Then you roll it up, and slice it into hand-rolls or bite-sized pieces:

This is someone else's photo, not mine, but you get the idea -- There's no reason at all that a sushi-wrapper has to have RICE!  Or FISH for that matter!  Bet you could do it for a burger!!!

One little note on technique -- When you pull the nori sheets from the package, they are brittle.  If you run it lightly over a hot griddle for a few moments (on each  side) it gets nice and flexible ane wrap-worthy.

Let me know if you try this, and thank you LessieBelle!

Totally bravo to you for holding back on the pancakes!

I remember when I first started doing Atkins -- I weighed 315 lbs at the time -- that it took Herculean strength to keep from eating the dangerous carbs.  First of all, at the time it seemed like they were everywhere.  And it was exhausting to show restraint all the time.

What got me through a lot of it was remembering a friend's comment ... the opportunitiy to "sin" is brief, and the urge will pass.  (He wasn't talking about food, as I recall.)  And frankly, the constant reminder that the temptation was transitory -- This got me through a lot of Pancake Moments!

Copgratulations!

Gotta love the protein cocoa and the peanut butter cookies!

Very comforting snack, and my sweet/fat tooth is totally fooled by both, and absolutely contented.

Little one broke his leg, now has a giant blue cast.

Curious -- how does your body handle sugar alcohols?  'Cuz they're murder on mine.
