Thanks Lee,  i'm a little undecided.   I did add a couple of things and i'm kinda gonna wait and see what happens.   It's a journey not a race right?  so i'm so close to my original goal now but i like the idea that we can add things and see how it goes and if not going well can go back to induction  :o) jeani

I sent a (quite) long email to the dietician where i had my surgery.  She suggested I come in for an office visit so we can both get on the same page and get me headed in the right direction.  She requested I bring some current food journals with me.   Surprisingly, she got me in her schedule in 2 weeks.  So I should have some good food journals by then.
Thanks everyone for your support and ideas.  I have been watching the food postings online to get ideas of low carb/no carb friendly food ideas.
Enjoy the sunshine!!

Pulling myself back in check this week.  While I've managed to keep net carbs in down I've allowed total carbs to creep upward.  I do best when watching both but I'm only half way there today.

Monday

     Fat(g)      Carbs(g)      Net C(g)      Prot(g)      KCals
88.78 112.87 26.17 119.50 1576
Carbohydrate (28%)
  Fat (51%)
  Protein (21%)
Carbohydrates, 112.87g (28%) Fat, 88.78g (51%) Protein, 119.5g (21%)

Missed my mark with total carbs over 100g and 25% total calories.  Net carbs well under 50g and fats nicely over 45% of calories.  I skipped a proper breakfast abd dinner.  Too many protein bars driving up total carbs with sugar alcohols.

2 small protein bars, fried chicken, 1 large protein bar

The Ardennes region of France is the area where The Battle of the Bulge was fought in 1944/5.  It is a pork pate made in this area.  Delicious with bacon, stuffed in a chicken breast, or even just on toast or a Ryvita.

In Europe we are starting to recognise regionalism in a big way.  So Champagne has to come from the Champagne area, Caerphilly Cheese has to be made in or near to Caerphilly, Cornish Pasties made in Cornwall etc.  You then know exactly what you're getting, and reputation is made and maintained on quality.  Every time I go to Cornwall I have to have a Steak and Stilton Pastie from one particular bakery in Looe.  Nothing else will do, even though it takes me three days to eat it!

Penny, Once I removed the carbs - and took some time off them - they do not appeal to me. My BF will have bread and I can just look and have no desire for it. But I know that I am a carb addict, and if I would start with a bite - I would want the whole thing. So I do not get a bite.
Some fruits are better for me than others (mostly berries), Veggies - only non starchy are allowed on my diet. Greens, and low carb veggies (but that also means no beans, except green beans). 2 weeks on a very low carb diet and my cravings went away.
I also noticed that when my craving are getting the worst of me - that means that my candida (systematic candida - internal yeast) must be getting worse. My doc prescribed anti-fungal meds, and I try to take them only if I have it, (now it is maybe every 2-3 months the most?)

Look into candida and the symptoms (google it)...

hello.... back to normal life...
Sunday was not a very good "low carb day"... but then that is a one day from.. not sure how many... It was all good carbs (mostly) and all combined with fat and proteins... with more proteins than carbs. So overall - not really a bad day.

Today is back to my normal - low carb diet.
PB: coffee + almond milk
B: cheese, protein bar...
L: spicy green beans + ham
S: protein shake, or yogurt w/proteins
D: not sure... but some meat and veggies...
LNS: cheese or protein shake.

Morning, y'all!

Today is going to be a quiet day at home, and already I'm finding my appetite is lower than it would be on a more active day.

B:  1 oz lox, about half a tablespoon creamcheese, rolled up
Coffee, coffee, coffee .... with evaporated milk as creamer (my fave)
I poached some eggs, but they're just sittin' there gettin' cold ... not much appetite
S:  Tuna salad with celery
L:  Fried cheese with marinara
S:  Maybe a protein shake
D:  Turkey meatballs, spaghetti squash, green salad

Okay, cultural gap once again -- what is/are Ardennes?
