Hey! :)  I never knew your name was Lisa also.  Were you named after Elvis' daughter too (thanks Mom! haha)?  I can't tell you how many people named Lisa I ask that say yes! I was going to be Lisa Marie so it was EXACTLY the same but my Dad intervened and said it was creepy since she was so "ga-ga" over Elvis!!  LOL  Dad won...I'm Lisa Diana.

First time posting. I have 36 more lbs to lose and I'm going to post any and everywhere to help me get to goal.

B: 1 Boiled egg, 2 thin bacon strips
S: 1 Boiled egg
L: Shrimp and chicken alfredo, no noodles
S: Lasanga, no noodles (brown ground beef, add marinara sauce, place a small layer of the meat mixture in the bottom of a muffin tin, place lowfat ricotta cheese on top, place more meat mixture on top, place in oven, coo****il everything heats up nicely, and cheese)
D: Ham salad (99% fat free diced ham, lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes, green onions, shredded cheese, boiled egg, bacon bits, fried onions, sunflower seeds, and lite ranch dressing) all extra ingredients are more like little taste. To get an idea, we have to weigh are salad, mine only cost 66 cents.

My go to meal is boiled shrimp with light alfredo sauce, you can also do this with chicken, or both.

Topic: Great recipe blog!
For those of you who aren't familiar with Shelly's aka Eggface's wonderful recipes, follow the link below for some out-of-this-world recipe ideas - I don't believe she follows a low-carb program of eating, but many of her recipes can be tweaked to make them low-carb if necessary... some are already low-carb. She updates her blog nearly daily and is always adding more recipes with pics and step-by-step instructions.

Hope you enjoy her blog!

Topic: Taking today "OFF" - so not worth it
Well, I started the day off LOW CARB . . .then went to an event where they had stuff like kettle corn and frozen yogurt . . . .even though I only had a very little bit of each, first it made me feel bad and then it made me "feel" bad.

So not worth the guilt and icky feeling (carb coma).

Oh well - back on task and hopefully it won't change the scale tomorrow.

DON'T DO IT - IT ISN'T WORTH IT!!!!

Hi Lisa -

When I was a teenager, I believe that was was beginning of Dr. Atkins' Diet Revolution - nearly 40 years ago. Of course back then most of the "medical society" poo-pooed the idea - even thought Dr. Atkins was a quack... but he persevered and was convinced that some day people (including the medical community) would come to embrace this style of living and we'd begin to see a greater acceptance of it... including low-carb products being more readily available in stores. Boy did he have foresight!

I think I have every book of his from his very first Diet Revolution up through the newest book!
