Topic: RE: Coffee for Low-Carbers: What's the Story here?
I have a protein coffee in my huge travel mug every morning on my way to my store. I make a thick creamer style protein slurry with heavy cream, sf caramel torani syrup and 1 scoop anywhey unflavoured protein powder, mix it all in my blender ball cup and pour into my brewed coffee and stir. In the winter I use cinnamon dolce sf syrup too!!
This has 25g protein and it tastes like an indulgent latte!!

Our bodies are terribly, terribly individual. It may very well be that meat, pork, and/or poultry are not great protein sources for you. The oddest things can impact our well-being. For me, it's plain black tea (which I love) that stoppers me up like cork. And I've never heard of that happening to anyone else. So, you never know!
Interested in low-carb nutrition? Thinking of trying Atkins? Want to try high-fat and/or high-protein eating? Whether or not you have had (or are thinking about) WLS http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/atkins/

Sometimes I'm also shocked at what I used to be able to eat. And sometimes the memory of it embarasses and dismays me.
I remember my oldest son when he was 12, and the amount of food he could blithely put away!

They'd last TWO whole days? :)
ONE tiny cutie is 9 carbs. I think I could have a whole cup of raspberries if I did net carbs and be under that 9 and I wouldn't have the sugar spike to go with it.

Thank you! I figure that "hopefully" the cuties will be there for the rest of my life. For now it's more important for me to attain the goals I set out for myself. I can hopefully eat the cuties when i'm in maintenance, or maybe not, but it would be a great tradeoff for improved health!

Good morning, Phyllis,
"Carbs Happen". That made me smile.
I have been known to carry a hunk of protein, something, in a cooler for just such moments.
I always rememebr that OA addage, "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail". Not trying to be annoying, I just find that if I repeat and live this mantra daily, I am better for it. Snap decisions lead to HAVOC for me. Poor choices seem to snowball.
Keep me posted, and yes, using the grill on lovely days is positive reinforcement.
xoxo Pam

Wow, just saw this.....
Lee 149 is within your reach.
I track my weight daily too. t seems to work the best for me.
2.5 is a marked loss. You make a good argument. I may give the cuties away or save them for someone else. They are my only foray intro fruitville these days.
Keep me posted, Lee. Very proud of your determination.

I know , Lee, but I am proud of you!!!
If I could eschew the fruit and coffee mate, I bet I could lose five pounds! I guess we have to figure out our priorities. Sounds like you have done just that.
A bag of cuties made their way into my shopping cart yesterday, but I am dolling them out like pain pills, lol. It's enough of a little sweet at the end of a long day to satisfy me. I think of the old 400+ pound days, when a bag would barely last two days.
Progress!
