Hello... checking once in a while..
Saturday was great. Got all my proteins, and fat. Little bit low on fiber... but that's oK.
Sunday,
Was a bit more hungry today. But still I am doing well.
So far had:
coffee+ cream
protein shake
pastrami with pickles, peanuts
yogurt + proteins+ flax meal + blueberries.
protein bar, sunflower seeds.
So that's 1240 cal, all my fat, my carbs, and lots of proteins... I am done for today.
Probably will get something really easy for late night snack..., pickles and hot tea.
Since yesterday I had only 1000 cal... I can use the extr 200 today. lol.. that's my line and I am keeping it.

Well...let's just say that friday and saturday were not the best low carb days for me.
I probably had 80 carbs friday and 120 yesterday....seriously.
Umm so far today has been good:
B: 1 egg scrambles, 1 turkey sausage, 1/2 wheat pancake *whoops*
S: Atkins bar
L: Tuna salad
S: Plain greek yogurt
D: chicken and cheese of some sort.
Walked a few miles this morning *I'm hoping to get my body happy again on the good food* The scale said something scary this morning *No doubt from water weight*
It's time to get back on track!

Finally into 36 inch waist trousers, not a single pound gone from my weight, but inches gone from my waist...LOL. I bought my first pair of 38 inch trousers in the January Sales in 1973 after leaving the RAF. I've only waited 38 years to lose that little bit of excess weight!! Life is very good.

A good place to start is the "How Much Protein Should You Have" thread, because healthy low-carb eating starts with getting enough of the good stuff!
Next, check out the Starting Point thread. In general, you're going to want to limit your carbohydrate intake to 20 grams a day (not counting fiber), and eat plenty of fat to provide satiety. Check out the daily CARb Accountability Roundup threads to get an idea of what other people are eating ...
I think that would probably be a good way to begin! And we are all here to help answer any questions you have.

I have added another protein shake to try to get my protein up and it is increasing my cals and carbs. I need to leave off a ssnack somewhere or eat protein and not nuts,lol.

Hello all!
I am interested in giving this low carb thing a try. I am doing everything right since my surgery and I am not losing weight. So I figured it may have something to do with carb intake.
I dont know how to find out how many carbs I should be getting per day and what is good and what is bad carbs.
Any help would be appreciated!

I finally had a great day yesterday!!!!!!!!!! I had to alter the plan but made better choices than I actually had planned. WOO HOO!!!!!!! Steamed shrimp and pan seared Mahi Mahi were a wonderful & healthy surprise.
My oldest son is home from college this weekend. Lots of things planned. Today looks like::::
commute: coffee w/splenda and 1/2 & 1/2
B: 2 scrambled eggs w/ cheese
s1: Greek Yogurt w/ cucumbers, broccoli & cauliflower
s2: Hard boiled egg & Parmesean chips
s3: Celery & Peanut Butter
commute: Iced Coffee w/ splenda and 1/2 & 1/2
D: Brats on the grill with sauteed peppers, onions and mushrooms & SF cheesecake
Lots of water and decaf tea throughout the day. I've got a pile of errands to run on my lunch hour so that's why 3 heavy snacks today instead of a "normal" lunch. Then dinner is a cookout for my Mom & Step Father's 5th anniversary.
My oldest son is home from college this weekend. Lots of things planned. Today looks like::::
