I use Carbquick, I like the taste better than the adkins baking mix. You can get it at Netrition.com

Well, it is not the ultimate goal, but I did make it TODAY to 199. YIPPEE. So exciting and low carb living has gotten me there.
Yes, roughing it on eggs, edamame, steak, pork chops, avocados, artichokes, REAL butter, salads, green beans with bacon and almonds. Oh life it good!
Thank you to all of you for inspiring me with your stories and goals and meals and accountability.
Finally, Onederland!

Sorry you're not feeling well ...
I cannot drink plain water, it makes me retch, don't know why.
I add lemonade and sweetener -- sort of VERY dilute lemonade. Or I drink tea. Or coffee. But it cannot be water.

It's been a strange day...
2 rashers bacon and 2 scrambled eggs
2 Atkins bars
Beef and stilton burger - threw it up
Lamb, mushrooms and peas
LOTS of coffee and tea.
High blood sugars (for me that's around 8.7) all day, but feeling as if a hypo is near. I normally run 4.7 - 7.0. Maybe I'm coming down with something...
Really don't like plain water, anyone have any ideas or tips to make it more palatable without adding carbs?

Buy the plain and sweeten it yourself. I use torrini sf syrups like rapberry and it's yummy .
There are a lot of ways to make the plain better and have hardly any carbs.

If you are finding this too difficult at first, then focus only on getting sufficient protein, for a while, and THEN move into carb restriction. Does that sound do-able?
The protein is much more impotant, in terms of health and satiety, than the low-carb component. Of course, you'll need to rein in your carb intake in order to lose weight and beat the cravings, but by all means, start with the protein (but check the sugar content of that Greek yogurt!)
It is possible that it was sweetened. I was getting it from the Dannon 0% vanilla. I think it actually has fructose in it. I usually buy Chobani but my local stores where out of it.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
It's the tail-end of Passover, and I am eating myself to distraction today (and part of yesterday). Fortunately, tomorrow is a new day --
The truth is also, when I tally all that I'm eating, I'm still not going above 100 gm net carbs. This may seem like WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY overbudget to some of you, but in maintenance (for me) that's not really catastrophic.
Tloday:
B: higher-protein waffles with butter, high-fiber matzo granola with dried fruit
S: coffee wiht cream
L: caponata, baba ganoush, tapenade, chopped liver, gefilte fish
S: apple, cheese
D: chinese chicken salad, extra chicken
S: probably a chocolate chip cookie somewhere along the road
How's it going, everyone?
