That is true though we still have to choose carefully cause so much stuff has things we don't want/need to eat in it.

here is my peanut butter cookie recipe:

1 cup peanut butter of your choice
1 cup Splenda or sweetener of your choice (Stevia didn't work for me)
1 egg or 1/4 cup substitute
1 tsp vanilla flavor(I usually just use water)
Mix all and drop spoonfulls onto ungreased baking pan. flatten in a criss cross pattern with fork dipped in sweetener. bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 min. cool slightly before removing from pan

With egg: cals 102 Pro 4 Fat 9 Net carb 2 Sugar 1 Sodium 86
With egg sub  Cals 97 Pro 4 Fat 8 Net carb 2 sugar 1 sodium 81

For some reason they don't taste as good to me if I don;t flatten them so do take the time to do that.

Yeap. Same as I am am. For me - carbs are carbs.  Simple are worse... but even so called "healthy - complex" carbs make me hungry, drive my Blood sugar all over the place... and when eaten in larger amounts - (more than 20-30 gr per serving) they may cause RH. Very severe RH.
That applies to all starchy carbs for me - the carbs in green veggies do not do that.
Also - some fruits are "safe" for me.
Welcome to this group.

I think you're so lucky in the US as the market is bigger so you have more choice.  I will have to get hold of a peanut butter cookie recipe soon as I have to give up cottage cheese and try to cut down on my Ryvitas...

I am at my final goal and I have been thinking about how different it will be to not be motivated by weight loss.  For the last 10 months it is almost like Christmas morning when I wake up and check the scale and see that I have lost.  Now I don't really want to lose any more.  My motivation will have to be seeing things stay the same.  I can see how people get addicted to weight loss.

I use Boarshead low sodium meats.  All natural no nitrites etc. but then I have never done really low carb because I am worried about my kidneys (I'm a diabetic).  The hunger is getting to me and so for a while I want to enjoy the loss of hunger that I have heard low carb helps with.  Those meats are on the company website.  If you have an opportunity could you check them out and let me know what you think.  I eat low sodium beef and ham.  I also make many cooked meats myself.  Chicken and grass fed beef as well as a lot of fish.  Like I say this is very new for me.  Just me

That looks good!

Any thoughts that deli meats might prove to be a problem?  High salt .... high chemicals ...

For some people, these meats slow WL.

Hi Hala
I followed you here from BOTT.  I just recently started to eat really low carb to curb the appetite a little.  I miss fruits and dairy but for a while this will be ok.  I am so exhausted from being hungry all the time.  For me just the carbs in healthy carbs drives my hunger.  Maybe this group will give me some insight into how to eat low carb.  Even right after surgery in the hospital my doctor had me eating mashed potatoes, pureed carrots and pureed chicken.  We drank carnation sugar free (but still a lot of carbs) instant breakfast in milk also containing those healthy carbs.  I do find that string cheese wrapped in deli beef keeps me from getting hungry for several hours.

No more cottage cheese from the end of this week.  Ryvitas are no more than 40 grms carbs a day.  My doctor doesn't want me to eat less than 40 grms carbs a day.  I'm a man, I know my place...
