I could use a 5DPT right now.  I need to kill my salt cravings and that would do it.  Problem is I want to EAT, lol.

Today

Fat(g) Carbs(g) Net C(g) Prot(g) KCals
87.52 86.10 46.59 142.16 1659
carbs 21%

I'm too lazy to list my foods today but as you can see induction is a bust.  Too much peanut butter and low carb tortillas.  Other than that it was pretty much the basics including lean meats; cold cuts that had a few carbs; shirataki noodles; almond milk; mocha; and pork skins.

Pray I do no midnight nibbling folks.

Go to WWW.youtube.com and do a search for homemade almond milk. There are several and they walk you right thru them. 1 cup almonds 4 cups water...not sure how long they let them soak then whiz up in a food processor or blender. strain and use.
Good luck,
Let me know how it turns out.

Topic: RE: KILL THE CARB MONSTER, HOW DO YOU DO IT?
MSW....I too have fallen off the band wagon...with steel cut plain oatmeal!!
I cannot begin to describe the carb cravings I've had! Sadly, I've caved into them....
Thank God, that I've only gained 2 lbs in 2 weeks.

It is SO hard to go back to such a low amount of carbs....but in order to lose weight and keep the carb monster at bay...it is a necessary thing.
One thing that I've liked during my higher carb weeks is that I do not have 'brain farts' like I had been when I did 20-35 carbs a day.  I wonder why?
Oh well, WE CAN DO THIS!
I'm cleaning out my pantry of ALL carbness....yes including my beloved oatmeal.... *sigh*

Keep us updated on how you are doing. Being accountable and having support are some of the things that help the most.  *hugs*

Thats what I was afraid of.  I know I can eat quinoa and flax meal, as well as the nut flours, so I am going to try the quinoa flakes also.  I'm also going to look for a granola recipe made with these things instead of oats.

Within the past 2 weeks, I've added in steel cut oat-oatmeal back into my diet. And yes...I believe it has caused me to crave carbs like a mad woman!!

Thank God, I am recognizing this now b/c I could easily go overboard with this. I've gained 2 lbs....seriously!

I am definitely lookiing into quinoa flakes. Sheesh...who would have thought that unsweetend oats could cause such cravings!

Barely survived yesterday. My labs were drawn at 5:00 pm and I was starving. End up going out and getting a Kobe burger with veggies. Then went to a store and got my bison and turkey ground meat to make meatloaf. Made it last night.. and stuffed my face, and my belly
This morning, for breakfast ate a good piece of the meatloaf...Then the doc office called...They already did some tests and my ferritin is low... lower than it was last year. Crap. I am down to 9.5 .. from 18 last June.. No wonder I can't get enough of the red meat.

Justified in my cravings - ate some more meatloaf as a snack... so today food is going to be for me:
coffee + almond milk
meatloaf (low carb, see recipe in recipe post)
meatloaf + yellow squash (few slices)
steak slices (leftover) with some veggies
protein shake or yogurt with proteins.
some cheese sticks (maybe)
more meatloaf... (it is really good...) with some veggies. Fruits.

Thanks for the recipe, I'll give it a try this weekend.  Do you blend the almonds in with the water?  How long do you let it soak before you seive it?

Never tried the pouch test, but with a vsg I hope it'll never be necessary!
