 Hi Lora,

Welcome.  I'm so sorry about your band failure.  I think there is a sticky at the top of the page that has links to various low carb plans.

I would suggest getting the free version of myfitnesspal. com where you can track the food that you eat.  In doing that, you can see the calories, carbs and protein that you're eating.  Everyone aims for a different level of carbs.  You will need to determine which plan you'd like to do, then get guidance from that source.  I like Atkins and I started Atkins Induction (20 carbs or less) a week ago Monday.  I will do that for awhile.

You might like to check out Atkins, South Beach, Zone or other plans.  There's lots of information on the internet about all of those plans.

We have a daily CAR (carb accountability report) where we can check in with our food.  i would highly suggest that.

Please ask questions and we'll try to answer them.  Today just happens to be a very quiet day in this group.

  Hi Donna,
Welcome to our group.  We're fairly new so you're here right at the beginning!

I am 11 months out from surgery and haven't lose weight in awhile so i decided to come back to what I've done so many times over the years.... Low Carb.  What I like about it is that after a few days of detoxing from flour and the little bit of sugar that I had over the holidays, it gets easier every day.  The cravings are gone if I eat enough wholesome food.

Popular things for me to eat are meat and cheese with a little bit of veggies.  I try to have one protein pudding a day to up my protein levels.

What do you like to eat?  How can you visualize low carb working for you?  Do you think you would enjoy it?  How is your weight?  Are you maintaining or trying to shed some weight?  I'm doing this to help me get to goal.

Again, welcome!

Hi,

I am so confused.  Is low carb the way to go??  I have every book you can imagine.  I guess I am looking for a magic bullet  I know there isn't one.

What are some of rthe most popular things that everyone eats???  I like the idea of eating chicken wings.

Help

Donna

I make a low carb mock tuna melt.  I first make a tuna salad w mayo, sugarfree pickle relish and celery.  (You can really make the tuna however you prefer.)

I put it in a microwave safe dish and cover it with shredded mozzarella cheese.

nuke for about 90 seconds and it comes out all gooey and delicous!!
