im not sure i have a moderate danger food,.. ill put peanutbutter as this food because most times i can limit it but every now and then i eat a few spoons more than i should.

my danger foods are bakalva but since its only a seasonal food in regular stores its not as bad as it could be if i hunted down stores to buy it.. (not happening)
apple pie even if it has a low carb nut crust and topping  made using splender, instead of sugar, calls my name if its in the house and ill over eat on it til its gone.

I think you are right. and like becky has said it is not about what happens in just one day. It is about what happens in all the days when you put them together that matters.

And Lord, they were the BEST hushpuppies! I did eat all my catfish and beans before I squeezed 3 of those mugs in,lol.

Topic: Low carb snacks and such...
Ok just as a side note I do realize that I didn't use the correct form of right in my last post...sorry I was sleepy...lol

What I am wantin are some good low carb snack ideas and low carb meal ideas. I'm trying very hard to be just meat, eggs and cheese. I did have a few almonds and an atkins bar as a snack bc I needed something sweet ( was so tempted to go back for another ...sigh). I'm gonna try to cut my protions and frequency down this week and get back on the exercise wagon. Oh and I plan on weighing in the morning I refused to last week, but anywhoo I need some ideas..Help me!!!!...PLEASE!!!

1.  What is your moderate-danger food ... tempting, but you can still have it around the house ... and in the event that you DO carb-snarf, you can manage damage control?
Nuts.  I will easily over eat these because they go down easy.  I developed a real taste forthem early post op.  They were not on my plan for the first six months but were the only food with a little protein that did not sit like a brick in my pouch.  Now I'm addicted to peanut butter, chunky especially and cashews in particular.  Peanuts, sunflower seeds, all other nuts I never ate pre op but thet are dangerous now.

2.  What is your enemy-food -- So tempting and lethal that it might trigger a serious binge, and you cannot even have it in your home?
Crackers, pretzels, ff chips, popcorn -anything light dry and crispy in texture; salty or sweet; is a no go except for pork skins.  I can eat unlimited quantities of such things especially the ff varieties.  They go right through my pouch but I don't get too full.  I reserve them as a side with dense protein or for a special treat like today.

Big sigh.  After this week I think my moderate foods my have become total danger.  Working on my head issues.  I am the queen og low cal binge eating.  I am trying so hard not to return to that behavior.

Topic: Feeling CARBtastic? (Not!!!) Let's have it -- What's your Danger Zone?
Yesterday our group's threads saw some members beating themselves up for slipping off the low-carb path.  I didn't see anything that was terrible (but maybe serious back-sliders tend not to post.)  No one mentioned scarfing down an entire chocolate cake, or a half-gallon of ice cream (I have done both of these things).  No one mentioned devouring an entire loaf of bread, or a pound of sugar cubes, or an entire box of See's.  So I'm guessing things are mostly under control for at least a few of us ...

But I want to know ....

1.  What is your moderate-danger food ... tempting, but you can still have it around the house ... and in the event that you DO carb-snarf, you can manage damage control?

2.  What is your enemy-food -- So tempting and lethal that it might trigger a serious binge, and you cannot even have it in your home?

For ME ....

1.  Nuts and crackers are my moderate-danger food.  If I go overboard on nuts, I might get 30 or 40 extra carbs on a binge, but it won't totally knock me off the path.  Crackers are a problem because they are a slider food and don't make me dump, but I still don't get that shaky binge thing happening.  Nuts and crackers can safely live at my house without doing me much damage.

2.  Ice cream, cake, and cookies are so attractive to me that they might as well be crystal meth.  Candy is in the same category.  I do NOT allow these foods in my house unless all members of the household agree that any remainder can be dumped into the trash immediately after serving has ended.     (One of my younger son's friends watched in astonishment as I poured half a bottle of perfectly good Coke* down the drain after a birthday party, one afternoon.  He could talk of almost nothing else for about half an hour!)

* We call soda/pop "liquid candy," and put it in that same category.

Topic: Monday Madnes CARb Accountability Roundup!!!
Monday.  Monday?  Ugh, MONDAY!!!  A full five days until the weekend, GRrrrrrrrrrrr .....

You'll notice that I'm actually posting this SUNDAY evening.  That's because I'm sure that tomorrow I'll be too rushed and anxious in the morning to remember to post.

There have been some lively and interesting discussions in the group about the impact of stress on carb consumption.  I'm about to go pack tomorrow's foodstuffs, so I'm ready at-the-go.  The local 99 Cent Store has dry snapple diet on sale, so I bought a bunch and am hoping it will help me hydrate through the week.  Really not looking forward to this week professionally, so I'm sort of laying out a plan of action, nutritionally speaking.

I'll post later what I ate.  Suffice it to say, fried cheese is going to figure heavily into my meal planning for the week!   (Also a hidden-away sugar-free dark chocolate bar.)  I'll let y'all know when I get there!

Hugs back at ya MSW!   I hope your pouch isn't screaming about the PB.

We all came to WLS in different ways but I don't think any of us can say that we have had a healthy relationship with food for our entire life.  I'm glad to have the support to help me find my way into healthy lifestyle changes.

I hear you about the DS.  That was never an option for me as my bariatric center doesn't offer it.  I wanted the Sleeve because I would absorb everything from day one.  I knew that was the best option for me.

Hey, the rest of OH can have surgery wars, but i won't be part of a forum that allows them.  Life is too great to spend my time reading someone else's bad drama.

Yannow ..... back in the day, I coulda done a LOT more damage than 93,8 carbs LOL!!!  Like, a whole, two-digit, prime-number multiple of that!  From where I sit, that really isn't a carb-tastic disaster.  (Hushpuppies are delicious, and I hope it was totally worth it!)
