Hey, no problem!  When I come to the USA the major disappointment is the 'bacon'.

Can be salted, unsalted, special cures or various smokings.  Gammon bacon is a whole round cut from the leg of the pig.

Yum!  Yum!!

You've gotten excellent advice from everyone else so I'll just throw in my 2 cents that I learned for myself anyway. I found I have to go even lower in carbs than the induction allows, myself I have to go 15 or less grams a day of carbs. I've even done days with no carbs and this is when I lose best, when I do less than 15. Guess I'm just very sensitive to them. Anyway you might try that several days a week and see if it helps. Also I would suggest you allow yourself a 5-10 lb varience in weight that way you don't obsess about a pound or two but you can catch it before it goes too far. Go with where you look and feel best, don't be a slave to numbers it'll make ya crazy!

Hi Phyllis!

I probably picked the wrong day's menu to post as a "typical" day.  I don't eat salami or lunch meats every day as I know they are SO high in sodium.  I know tha****er retention will definitely lead to depressing results on the scale.  I do eat 5 small "meals" a day (I posted my food as a list, not broken up into meals, just to make it easier to type).

As far as protein shakes, most gastric bypass post-ops do supplement with one or more shakes a day as we have the lifelong malabsorption to deal with.  VitaLady who posts here on OH supplements with as much six shakes a day at over 15 years post-op.  Also, many of us RNYers wake up feeling nauseous in the morning, so a protein shake is a good way to begin the day and then eat solid food later on.

Unfortunately, I also spend over two hours a day in the car commuting and need to eat something in the car.  I also have to eat one of my meals at my desk at work, and we are not permitted to eat anything big or that "smells"; hence, the Atkins bar.  I do agree that whole food is a much superior form of protein.  During the week, I do the best I can.  On the weekends, I am able to eat a "cleaner" diet of more fish and poultry and occasionally beef.

Thanks for your input!  Much appreciated.

B.Oat bran muffin with butter

S. kamut puffed cake with peanut butter

L. meatloaf with black soy beans

S.  adkins protein shake

S.  Celery stuffed with cheese spread

D. Chili with black soy beans

Too many carbs today, but I had to get rid of that muffin.

See my answer to you on your other post.  I don't think you are eating enough solid protein or veggies.  Plus you may be taking in too much salt.
