On Sunday I had a slice of meat feast pizza (medium), left the outer crust. Thought my belly would explode an hour later...no more cheating for me ! Alex (my 12 year old) ate the other 5/6 and my crust together with a salad and 2 helpings of ice cream. Before my op I'd eat 2 trips to the salad bar, a large pizza, garlic bread and a pudding with a couple of trips for ice cream. Would also have been hungry an hour later!

Oooooh OK. I visited London back in 1988 and, alas, did not like the bacon as it was SO different from "our" bacon! I guess it's all about what we are used to!

As of yesterday, it was a 6 lb gain (ugh) but when I got on the scale today, 2 lbs were gone! I've been a bit constipated lately, but yesterday I, uh, spent a considerable amount of time in the bathroom (you get the picture). :)
Checking in with doc is a good idea. My recent labs were all good including thyroid functions. But can't hurt to run it by the doc. :)
I went back over my food journal for the past six months. Interestingly enough, my weight started going up around the time I added meat, pork, and poultry back into my diet, after not eating meat for over four years. When I was only eating fish, dairy, and veggie proteins, I had no "bathroom problems", but things started "stopping up" upon adding in the meat. Not sure if there is a connection.

While five pounds is not a huge gain, it is ALSO true that UNEXPLAINABLE weight change, either up or down, can be caused by many things, and it might be a good time to go to your internist and say, "WTF?"
There are many disorders, from significant to trivial, that can cause weight change. At this point, you should probably run this problem by your physician.
How does that sound?
