I also have developed an intolerance to whey protein. Also possibly Splenda (jury still out) and seem to be having major fat malabsorption issues.  As of today, down for 150 grams of protein, 45 grams of fat, and 25 grams carbs (all kinds).  

Limiting.

Today it's going to be eggs, low fat cheese, nonfat cottage cheese, beef and turkey jerky.  Could always be worse!

Saturday was good for carbs. Except the end of the day. But it was fruits.. so not bad at all :
Coffee + almond milk
flat out wrap, pork loin (2 servings) veggies
1/2 apple
salmon beef + veggies, 2 glasses of wine cheese (wedding)
2 peaches, muscadine, nuts.

Good net carbs, good protein.  The high total carbs is because I had too many protein bars.  That's also why the protein is up.  Naughty  me.  Atkins bars are not meals.

Hello, my fellow Atkins and Low-Carb Losers!!!

I haven't been here except to read, for months, due to a post-op glitch: I am not absorbing fats well, they glide through me, and I was developing deficiencies and grotesque poop problems (don't ask).  Fr the last month I have been off of Splenda, and unable to eat my usual Atkins-type diet. Inflammation has dropped, anemia has improved, but I have gained weight and am devastated.

Just the re-introduction of carbs to replace the calories lost from fat has screwed up my metabolism, and every molecule of carbohydrate seems to convert to a pound of body weight.  I might be exaggerating, but I am up in weight (though feeling much better).

Really, I need help.  I need some way of eating a higher-protein diet that is lower in fat, but also low in carbs, and I am unable to figure out how to do that.  Just transitioning to lower-fat has been a huge hurdle.  If I'm not going to be getting as many calories from fat, then the calories are going to come from .... what!!!!

Anyone have any good suggestions?  Or even bad ones (I'm desperate).

I put a place holder in for dinner tonight plus I need one mre glass of water for my 80 oz.  One thing for certain, it will include zero carbs.  I managed to go over induction level by 3g through missing a protein bar.  Otherwise, its all good.

I've got similar issues with whey (asthma), soy (thyroid) and vegetable (just plain nasty) proteins.  For the last couple years I've used egg protein.  I startd with JayRobb but I like Healthy N' Fit Nutritionals better.  Both are at Vitamin Shoppe. 

I mix shakes a pint per serving bcause it tastes less like protein this way.  An oz of egg ptotein powder to 8oz almond milk & 8oz water plus a drink mix single gives me a fruity taste without the fruity carbs (like wylers orange for a creamsicle flavor). 

I only buy vanilla once I realized I can mak it taste like nearly anything I want.   Unsweetened cocoa and instant coffee work well.  The only down side is its not for protein coffee.  You have to mix it room temp then temper it with the coffee just like you would temper eggs in some recipes.  I'm not that good with complicated cooking.
