I was banded 2/09.  As far as I'm concered the "Bariatric diet"  is Atkins.  The surgeon and time agree with me in private.  I have had bad issues with the band.  I was looking for the failed band groups and found this.  Sure would have loved to have long ago.

I had unfilled last Feb slowly filled to about 2/3 of what it had been.  I was able to get solid protein in again.  Started on strick Atkins in January and started to lose again.  After a few months of losing my band got tighter so had more fluid taken out to be able to eat solid again.  Since January 1/12 I have been able to get 45 pounds back off.

I have only ever been able to get weight off with Atkins.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Yeah - I am back, too!  Really have been low carb for the past 1.5 years and lost an additional 30 lbs post GBP in 2009.  Took last week off to hoggg out - I was on vacation - felt miserable while eating the stuff, but wanted to get it out of my system.  Gained 4 lbs.

Today, I restarted Atkins induction.

Don't know if you have heard of all of the podcasts and websites available for support for low carbers.  Check out livinlavidalowcarb.com - he (Jimmy Moore) does/shares amazing amounts of information and there is tons of it out there.  I need to read/see a lot of stuff to keep me motivated - it really does help!

Its nice to see you posting again I come here often to check out if anyone has posted anything.
 
I can't say that I am fallowing Atkins but I am trying to eat low carb as much as possible.
 
I have gained about 10lbs from my lowest weight. I am trying to get that off.

I know the feeling of GAIN..and it sucks! In the past year I too have gained around 12 lbs. Trust me..I don't like it. I got a lil too comfortable with eating the wrong things. 3 yrs. out and I refuse to carry this extra 12 lbs. So two weeks ago I cut the carbs! Yes Ma'am I did...weighed this morning and nothing..lo l I'm not a quitter I'm a fighter..we can do this! To heck with weight gain!

Okay folks, I finally confirmed it for myself.  From December through May I "did" Weigh****chers, about 1300 calories, moderate protein, high fiber, "moderate" carbs -- about 200 grams a day.

And I gained weight ... I gained twelve pounds in five months, and felt like crud.

Sooooooooooo ..... back to Atkins!  I'm going back and reading the boards, checking to see what's what.  Will be back to post today's intake later in the day!

 i know this is an old post but i will just share my experience.  Try limiting the artificial sweetners, which would include the atkin bars.  I love splenda but it definitely keeps me from losing.  it will actually take me out of ketosis according to the keto strips.  i try to stick to stevia.  you may need to treat the atkin bars like a dessert.  they are better to eat than a snickers bar but you may need to limit your consumption.  i am just getting back to true low carbing after significant weight gain.  i can tell you that my weight always stalled when i added an atkins bar. i saved those for times when i felt like i just had to taste something sweet.

OMG...just yesterday I wrote in the VSG maintenance group about how emotional I get when I am "dieting". It doesn't seem to matter if I am going low-carb or low-cal - my emotions are all over the place! It gets so bad that I give up. I have tried sticking it out but can't stand myself. I got alot of good advise from people but wondering how you get past it???
