I am try not to say no to any particular food, but just keep the carbs around 30 or less per day. Of course, I have off days, but I would think cottage cheese would be okay.

I have never had an infusion, but it just scared me. It is not rational, especially since I have had several surgeries. Of course, now I wish I would have done it. I don't have much energy, and I bet that the infusion would have helped.

Glad your infusion went well.

Got my first iron infusion today. Do not feel too bad, but not "fantastic" either.
Typical side effects - nausea, upset stomach, dizzy. After all - the pumped me with a lot of chemicals. Woke asleep due to mega dosage of benadryl. Woke up hungry - almost starving... due to the steroid they pumped in me (so I do not get allergic reaction)

today eats:
coffee + almond milk
protein shake
total 8 cheese sticks, 2 baby bell cheese
lots of peanuts

later : beef, cucumbers, etc.
whatever...

here you go - most likely any meat will be good for that.

This is for meatloaf - but I made some meatballs and it were great. n I made a lot and freeze.  So easy to get it out and have a great meal...

Meatloaf: low carbs

·       2 lbs bison ground meat

·       1 lb lean beef (93-7)

·       1 lb lean ground turkey (93-7)

·       2 16 oz jars of organic medium salsa

·       2 oz chia seeds (or use flax if you do not have chia)

·       2 oz flax seeds

·       3 oz flax meal

·       2 eggs

·       Spices: 1 tsp of red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

Mix all together.  Let sit for 1 hr up to 12 hrs in the fridge

Create 2 meatloaves, cover with some additional salsa.

Bake in 375 for 1 hr. let it stand for 15 min.

I always \have cheese - string cheese, individually wrapped cheese. I can always grab and go.
Protein shake - takes me 2-3 min to make one.
I also bake protein muffins,a and my own protein cookies and have that .
In a worse case scenario - I grab protein bar.
making protein muffin - or flax muffin takes me 3-5 min. Less that it take me to make coffee.
Stopping at a "Tim Hortons - takes time also)
There is food that is individually wrapped that does not spoil too fast - I always have that for grab-and-go.

Not familiar with tim Horton's but assume it is a bagel shop? Do they have bagel sandwiches? If so,get a bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich and throw away the bagel.

And no fruit alone would not be a good choice.

Hi

My name is Cat and I'm 36 and living in Australia. I had my lap band put in mid-April and lost 33 lbs quite quickly. I have stalled the last 3 weeks and know it is because I have eaten high carb again. Doh! I am looking for tips on a low-carb lifestyle and not eating meat this is a bit difficult. I sometimes eat chicken and fish but mostly meat substitutes like legumes (which are unfortunately high carb).

Hi... I'm new here to the program...

And I'm doing ok, but today found myself rushing out the door with the kids without breakfast. So, we go to Tim Hortons, and have a bagel! And after a 2 weeks of being grain free.

Weekdays, I have scrambled eggs in muffin cups (2 eggs, 1 bacon strip, onions). And weekends we usually fry up something.

So, what do you do when you need breakfast and run out the door? I hate the idea of products, as it's fake, but what do you do when you're running out the door and need something? Should I eat low-sugar fruit? Doesn't seem enough.

Your advise would be appreciated.
