New week, new menu.
The iron is kicking my butt.   Constipation and other issues.  Another side effects of iron infusions is joint pain. I thought it would miss me, but yesterday I woke up in pain.  Head and all over.  Today - the headache is gone, but the joins and muscles pain got so much worse.  And due to RNY can't take Advil. Fun, fun, fun..  One day at a time.

My wonderful BF helped and set up my new washing machine.  (the old one was leaking badly).
I have been using it since then... the blankets that needed to be washed... lol.
It is going to be another hot day here...
Also - went to a market over the weekend and bought a lot of fruits. So next few days - it is not going to be a really low carb diet.  I can give up starches, but once in a while - need to load up on fruits.
Peaches are in season, fresh from the orchard SC peaches. If you never had them so fresh - right from a tree - you do not know what you are missing.  Need to take more iodine - since the peach binds with iodine and slows the thyroids... Beside that - things are cool

eats:

coffee+ almond milk
2 peaches + cheese
protein shake (no carbs)
yogurt + proteins + fresh blackberries
beef roast + cucumbers
peaches + blackberries + cheese
meat + fresh salsa (made it from fresh veggies I got over the weekend)

Thanks. I am familiar with some of the studies.  Very interesting,,, but those diet - as healthy as they may be if followed very closely - may be really challenging and dangerous when "modified" even once in while.
Unfortunately - IMO - those diet to work as the founders expect,  and for them to really be good for someone - they have to follow exactly - i.e. no fruits, no carbs, no deviation once in a while.
Unfortunately - that is close to impossible in today's world for a long term.
I see people who try to follow even the Atkins diet , and get sicker and sicker - once they give themselves permission "to cheat" once a week or a few times a week... They would eat all the saturated fats, and fried food.. followed by a pizza and beer, and dessert once a week. That once a week -  all wrong food puts so much stress on the body... that instead of them getting better - they get sick and blame the diet. (Atkins - in this example).

Thanks for the great link! Did you listen to the interview on the radio show linked on the page? This is all right along the lines of what I've been reading about diet and nutrition. If you haven't already, read up on Weston A Price, and look him up and Nancy Fallon who has a couple of books out following his principles of eating a low-carb high fat diet and adding pro-biotics.

We will miss you. I will miss you. Have fun.

hot hot hot.. and humid... grrrrr... But life goes on. My poor air-conditioning at home can't keep up.  Will be interesting weekend.  If it gets to be too hot - I will suggest we go to my BF house. - smaller , and most likely easier to control (temp wise). Will see.

after the iron infusions - I can feel the effects of steroids.  This morning decided to make my coffee half - decaf.  Wise choice. Still shaking.  Tomorrow will drink less. But - no coffee=headache. Not good.

eats today will be easy:

coffee + almond milk
protein muffin (washed down with mineral mix  water)
eggs (maybe)
yogurt + proteins + flax.. (my colon on strike again)
beef + cucumber (or tuna)
dinner - some salad + meat or fish.
and the general cheese, cheese sticks, etc.
