Better late than never I suppose!!
B - 2 protein coffees
L - triple protein shake
D - 5 chicken wings with BWW asian zing sauce (not too much)...
I was trying to do all protein shakes this week to get myself back on track, but fell off with the wings last night - but its not that bad. Calories were around 1000, protein 160, carbs 25 or so

You are the best HoundMama in the world. You just spend all your time making all of us feel like a protected lil'pup! I lOVE the dogs. When I lived in a cabin in W.Va there were tons of hounds. I adore the Blue Tick Hounds and their long droopy ears.
So yup, I used to be know as the Queen of Denial, but trying to learn to do the dance a little differently this time around. Thank goodness for my little Sleeve helping me to inch along towards goal. I love eating clean and how it makes me feel. I always know it will be a huge relief but when I'm in the midst of some good old fashions sugar and flour mixed with some grease, well I just get amnesia and think I can't change. I'm tired of rationalizing, bargaining and swearing that... well, ya'know.
So hugs hugs and big hound doggie kisses all over your sweet face. Thanks for always being a kind word and a hug.

Topic: RE: RECIPE THREAD!
Thanks for this Lisa!!!
I'll start with my newest favorite recipe which is doubled from the original. If you don't want to make this much at one time, just half everything. I've made this two weekends in a row with rave reviews from the family! Since the basic recipe is just meat, there are zero carbs.
The kids eat this with corn tortillas, beans and/or rice. My DH and I eat ours with a green salad for lunch or dinner. For breakfast, mix in a scrambled egg with the shredded meat (machaca). Add some sour cream, avocado, salsa, peppers & onions or whatever is on hand and you've got a super tasty (not spicy) meal. This freezes well too :)
Crock Pot Carnitas
7 lb pork shoulder or butt roast
4 cups chicken broth (hot)
4 T garlic powder
4 T onion powder
4 T cumin
3 T chili powder
4 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground black pepper
2 T lime juice
1/2 tsp salt (to taste)
Directions:
1. Bring chicken broth, lime juice and spices to a boil in a sauce pan.
2. Put the roast in the crock pot and pour the broth/spice mixture over the meat.
3. Cover and cook on High for 5 - 6 hours, turning the roast every 2 hours.
4. Meat is done when it can easily be shredded with a fork.
For a quick and easy clean up, use the crock pot liners...no muss and no fuss!
