It's a really clear and beautiful day here in So Cal!!! I'm cooking again - crock pot bbq pulled pork - I found a low carb bbq sauce recipe that had good reviews so I've made that to go with it. I'll post it on the recipe thread if it holds up to the family critics :)

B - 1/2 cup regular cottage cheese (5)
S - 1 cup coffee w/half & half (4)
L - shrimp stir fry (6)
S - protein bar (2)
D - low carb BBQ pulled pork, steamed veggies (6)

Total net carbs = 23 grams

Water - will be 8 cups
Vitamins - taken after dinner
Exercise - long walk in the neighborhood

Yes, the strips are our bacon but not nearly as much meat as your UK variety!!! If I could find those amazing meaty strips here my family would be in heaven...LOL!

I can only imagine the waitress looking perplexed being asked for fresh cow's milk :)

On your recommendation I got Good Calories, Bad Calories from the library -- You're right, VERY long but VERRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYy interesting.  Sort of answered my question about how America's nutritional plan underwent a radical shift and helped us become number one in obesity by scarfing down carbohydrates!!!

Thank you for suggesting it!

Hi!  If you have real bacon, what do you call it?  Wherever I've stayed in the USA I've been given strips.  I also remember Janice asking for 'fresh cow's milk' in IHOP and the waitress went away to get a translator!  LMAO!

Happy Saturday,
I am happy to report that even after I had a glass of wine last night, my keto stick still turned purple this morning!!
I knew I was going to go out last night and would want to have a glass of wine, so I ate very carefully during the day.  I looked it up on line and there were only 6 carbs in a glass of Riesling.

I had kaiser years bac****il they left my plan options.  They did allow natural hormones.  Cost to them may actually be cheaper.   What you find is many docs are averse to natural.  I had to search high and wide for a doc that uses both.

I hope synthetic can work for me because should I ever have to change docs it would be easier.  However, two weeks on natural and I'm starting to feel a little better.

Interesting how your cholesterol has respoded.  We've been told the opposit for so long.  Just shows what a mystery metabolism still  is.

There is nothing unique about this site.  What it offers is quick summary info about atkins for those who want the highlights without wading through tmi.

I came accross this e-book for a ready made low carb ketogenic diet in my never ending research for the cause of my rapid weight gaining sprees.  Those *****gularly read my *****ing & moaning know what I'm talking about.  Those who don't, trust me you don't want to get me started.

Anyhoo, I just skimmed it but this is a low carb diet.  It gives you an eating plan for one month.  While it is not intended for wls folks, we should be able to adopt it for our personal needs.

I'm assuming of course you are far out enough to understand your requirements and make adjustments.  Contact your surgeon's practice or nutritionist if you need to.  Be sure to always conform to the nutritional requirements of your specific procedure when eating low carb or on any other plan.
