Topic: CARb Accountability - Hey, Wednesday is HUMP Day!
Happy mid-week, everyone!!!!  Hey, we're halfway through till the weekend!

Don't know about y'all y'all, but having to post my intake daily really DOES help keep me on the straight and narrow.  Tuesday was a 1600 calorie day for me, and about 300 of that came in the form of cream for my coffee -- What do you all think, should I nix the heavy cream?  I'm still hung up on the idea of thermodynamics, eg it's all about the calories.   But I'm sure that the calories do figure in there, somewhere!!!

Honestly, I'm just grateful not to be sugar-bowl diving.  I nibbled on a single dried cranberry from the cupboard, and honestly you would not believe the sugar cravings that set off.  I went and did a number on some tuna salad instead,  So my blood sugar is okie dokie, and I'm still within my nutritional goal ranges, but it was an uncomfortable reminder that sugar is the boss of me!

So -- Post your intake, or your planned intake, and let's take a look!

BTW# -- Are you sure you're actually eating ENOUGH to lose?  What's your protein in gm for the day?

 Hiya Jen --

How many grams of protein, and carbs - and how many calories overall -- are you getting in a day?  It may actually be that you SHOULD be eating more.  You probably do not want to throw your metabalism into slooooooooowwwwww motion by eating too LITTLE.  Let us know what the intake stats are, if you keep track, and I'll be there are others here who can help you!

ARG, my computer just ate my long reply so I'll keep it brief.

Add more dense protein.  Check the carbs on the wings and figure out how many carbs in the seeds that you're eating.  Maybe you're not getting enough nutrition.  a string cheese keeps me full for 10 minutes, then i want more food.  Add an egg to it for breakfast.  Add a 4th meal of another piece of baked chicken.  Keep yourself filled on dense protein and you won't go astray.

We're here for you.  You won't blow it!!   I get really hungry too and when i do, I eat more protein.

 Hi Barbara,

I remember seeing your Avi about a year ago.  It's great to see you again.  You'll be so happy after the first few days when the carbs are detoxed from your body.  Just hang tight for the first few days and come here and scream about carbs if you need/want to.

Welcome!

I love those whole wheat low carb tortillas and as soon as I'm further towards goal, I'm definitely going to add them back in.  I like getting the high dose of fiber and still lowered carbs.

I too like eating Atkins style because of the freedom that it gives me from the flour and sugar cravings.  What I'm craving now are some berries which will be coming soon to my food plan.

I read on another thread, not sure if it was here, about someone using egg beaters to make really thin wrap type egg things that are kept in the fridge with parchment inbetween them to keep fresh, then use to wrap things in.  I did that recently using a whole egg that I fried really thin like a crepe.  I can't remember what I wrapped in it though.  DuH!  ;)

OK I am starving....and I don't know why? So far today I have had sunflower seeds and cheese stick for breakfast, hot wings for lunch and dinner of baked chicken. But I have grazed all day. Mostly on sunflower seeds and an atkins bar but still I feel like I could eat everything ( I haven't) but I feel like I'm gonna mess up at any time, I thought the longer you did this diet the less hungry you got ( or so I heard) well today is not one of those days. And I was feeling so proud of myself for being less hungry the last few days. UUUGGGHHH!!!! On a side note I have lost about 3 lbs woohoo but if I can't curb these cravings that won't be for long...sigh maybe tomorrow will be better. Just had to get that off my chest!!!

Neither of those out here on the west coast.  I've looked at Safeway and Lucky's but generally shop at local markets and Wholefoods, neither carry that product.  I generally have Fage or some other organic greek yogurt when I remember to buy it.

You're trying to give me way too much credit, Lee!!! The protein bars are either Atkins or Met Rx and they give me plenty of chocolate for my fix :) I've seen recipies for homemade protein bars but I've never had the gumption to make them.

I usually eat plain Fage 2% but the supermarket was out of them so I got the Carbmaster. Do you have a Ralphs or Kroger in your neck of the woods? They are the ones who carry it.
