Take a deep breath and forgive yourself.  If we never fell off the wagon, we would not have had surgery in the first place.  WLS operated on our stomach, not on our mind and occasionally we slip into old behaviour.  Good on ya for recognizing that this is not how you want your journey to look.

Learn from it and let it go.  Your tummy is punishing you enough with that lardy feeling.  You deserve to treat yourself with kindness regardless of great or poor choices.

I did Atkins many years ago and lost alot of weight, the last 6 years I had back surgiers and had my thyroid removed and lost my beautiful body to become 260 lbs. tried N/S and back to WW but nothing really helped me get off enough weight. I was banded 6 wks ago today and have lost 20 lbs. so far but I feel like I really have to watch my carbs closely or I will slow down my weight lost. I really like the fact that there are receipes here to follow. I started to regain my motivation back a little since losing some weight.  I hope I can continue to lose with the band and not struggle like I did with everything else..High protein is good for me especially since I'm older and need it.

 Hi there!

Four bites of chocolate cake is NOT "hitting the ground hard" .... REALLY.

Four bites of chocolate cake is probably no more than 20 carbs, tops.  You might not feel really good right now, but do try to log it in and see what the total damage REALLY is before kicking yourself too hard!

Tomorrow's another day!  Great thing about low-carbing is, you can reverse the damage with your very next bite!  You didn't really fall so far off the wagon, and you should have no problem righting yourself again, I'm s ure!

hugs!

Lisa

Time to post my food.  I'm starting a 10 month class tonight called Awakening Joy so need to eat early and scaddadle out of here.  I'm going to go hang out with all the happy Berkeley people and add more happiness and joy to my disposition.

here's my food but not in the order of meals

6 oz salmon filet
1 baby carrot
1/4 cup red bell pepper
2 slices cucumber
2 T tuna salad
1 fresh vietnamese spring roll w/rice paper wrapper
bacon
2 cherry tomatoes
1 T heavy cream

Calories - 831
Protein - 68
Carbs - 18

I hope I don't need a snack when I get home at 10pm.

I just wanna say that my baby turned 37 today.  He's in Italy on a film shoot but I got to google chat with him this morning, just cause he knew I'd want to talk to him.  I said, It's your dang birthday, so how come I feel older?   Truth is that part of the reason I had this surgery is that I'm single with 1 son and don't want to ever be a burden to him.  We do great things like hike the Great Wall, kayak, snorkle in Thailand, hike in Japan, swim in the Mediterranean on the Cote de Azur.  I want that active life that I dreamed of for a long time and it's all coming true.  So here's to feeling fabulous at 60 and who the heck cares about wrinkles!   OK, so I do.

I've switched from unsweeted soymilk to unsweetened almond breeze.  I've been a vegetarian/vegan for too much of my adult life to want to drink a glass of milk.  Now 1/2 and 1/2 or cream, that's another story.  Bring it right on.  I allow myself a tsp or two of cream in my morning Earl Grey tea.
