Hi, great that you've joined us!
I think there are several things in your plan that I might change if it were me. (this is coming from someone who stalls for a month at a time and loses very slowly).
1. processed foods tend to have a lot of sodium. Check your hot dogs and antipasta. I ate bacon yesterday and I'm up 1.2 pounds this morning. I guess that doesn't work, eh?
Not only does it stall me, it makes me gain.
2. Some say atkins bars stall them. I was eating high protein/low carb bars occasionally but gave them up when I started Atkins in January.
3. Maybe the milk? I only drink a tablespoon of heavy cream a day. For shakes I used Almond Breeze unsweetened - 8 oz. 40 calories and 2 carbs.
I log everything in myfitnesspal . com and then post on the daily CAR thread with my calories, protein, carbs etc. You might try that so that we can see what your totals actually look like.
For breakfast, instead of a bar, what about leftovers from dinner?
Perhaps try doing one thing differently, like give up bars for a few days, or cut back on sodium and do them one at a time so that you can see where change happens for you?
I pee on the stix to see what knocks me out of ketosis. I get knocked out really easily if I don't stick to meat/cheese and more meat/cheese.
Good luck!

Topic: Need help! Stalled at 263 lbs.
I have lost tons of weight many years prior to surgery eating the low carb/Atkins diet.
Since recently finding out that my protein was very low, I'm kinda torn between keeping the carbs super low & getting my protein in. I was not drinking milk for a while because of the carbs then after getting the low protein news I added it back in. I'm not sure if that's why I'm stalled or not.
this is what I ate yesterday:
Breakfast: Atkins choc. chip granola bar 17gm. protein 3 gm net carbs ( needed a break from eggs) & coffee with half & half (yes real coffee)
lunch: small portion of left over anti pasta salad with blue cheese dressing. no croutons
the salad had some tomatoe, oinions, lettuce, olives, lunch meat etc.
snack: protein shake made with GNC choc. protein powder (4 carbs) 20 gm protein. & 8 oz. skim milk
dinner: 2 hot dogs (all beef) no bun (low carb ketchup & mustard) I don't usually eat hot dogs, but I needed a break from chicken.
snack: atkins endulge peanut caramel cluster bar 8 gm protein / 2 gm net carbs & 8 oz. 1 %
milk
snack: Philly swirl sugar free popsicle 14 cal. /4 carbs ( 3 of which are sugar alcohol & 1 gm fiber)
Do you think it's the milk or the Atkins bars causing my stall or neither? Maybe it's just a stall?

I was thinking about this post last night when I went to bed and wished that I had included why Taubes thinks low-calorie diets (aka starvation diets) don't work. There were many reasons he cited but the one that I identify most with is that starvation diets are uncomfortable. We cannot stay on them long because we don't feel good and don't have much energy. It's hard to make a lifestyle change when you feel like crap! I was also thinking about how much better I feel now that I've tweaked my carb intake down to less than 30. I always vow that I'm going to stay in that mode because I feel so much better - but my history shows that little by little carbs creep back in and suddenly I'm struggling again. It takes discipline just like a starvation diet - but in this case it is not uncomfortable once I get past carb withdrawals. Knowing how hard it is to get past carb withdrawals I always wonder why the heck I let carbs creep back in!!! ;-)

Whacka Doodle,
I had to reflect on your reply over night so that I could put it in prospective. I think I am really trying anything I can to get in ketosis. I can't seem to get into fat burning mode and haven't been since 2 years post op. Here I am getting ready to celebrate year 4 and I am still at least 80 lbs from my highest goal. I celebrate and embrace the 170 lbs I lost, I own the 20 lbs of bounce back, but I really want to see myself closer to that goal. I am truly addicted to coffee. I don't need the caffeine, I just need the flavor. I found my "creamer" was carby considering the amount I was drinking every single day. I have been successful in using either soy or RTD protein drink as my "creamer" or sometimes I drink it black. But for some reason I forget to make/order the decaf. In an a earlier thread a few weeks ago, it was indicated that caffeine could cause insulin production. Pre-op I was insulin resistant and took the highest doses of metformin allowable. I no longer take any medication, but feel I am very insulin sensitive.
I would embrace a size 10 and not give another thought to any of this, but I wear and xl top and size 18 pants. My hips and legs are at least 2 sizes larger than my upper body. I really would like to celebrate my 50th birthday this year just a little lighter than I am now. I would celebrate a size 12-14 with gusto.
In all the helpful information I received from everyone on this forum, I learned my calcium supplements were at a minimum of 28 carbs a day alone. So I have changed my calcium.
I tend not to share as much on the forums, which is something I will try to change. You all have been so very helpful to me and I appreciate anything and everything you share with me.

Topic: Friday CARB Accountability Thread
Here we are folks, FRIDAYYYYYYYY. I have a birthday party to go to---my little niece. She is so excited. Should be fun. They are having pizza, so just the toppings from meat lovers is my plan. I'm taking my choc. protein drink to help steer clear of the cake and ice cream. Also there for motivation:
I'm in the 40 range on Ketones strips. The last stop in the land of pink---then onto purple for a week.
I did get my exercise in yesterday. I'll be doing my best to squeeze it in before the party today as well.
It is 5:08 in Eastern time, and I'll be leaving in 5 minutes to help start moving a friend. We do One Hour Power Move Them Boxes. It's amazing what two 40 year old ladies can do in under 1 hour. Add that up for a total of 5 hours this week. Tomorrow, I will have her kids and my kids all day--as tomorrow is the "BIG DAY". lol I dunno who's got it harder--her or me (with my kids, there will be 5 kids under the age of 8 here). After those kids leave, then another birthday party, with MIL--this is stressful; I'll tell you more on that tomorrow.
So, folks, here is my plan for today:
