I will...  I like simple stuff - and i cook for one - so I learn to adapt foods to be low carbs.

Yes. I did some of them.. always trying to make the recipe less carbs and more proteins fat.

RH i s very common post op RNY.  I think a lot of people have - some just less "reactive" than others.  Some do not know they have it - i.e. they get really hungry after carby meal - and never check their blood sugar level.  I think RH is responsible for a lot of regains - and carb addiction.
I would rather dump (I do - on too much sugar) than to have the RH episode.
Now when I look at foods - the question is not if I dump... but if I can get RH after that.  (complex  carbs). I would not even eat a whole large apple anymore.  maybe can have half, or a bite of 2.

I noticed that I can have some fruits ... but only after a meal... and never in the morning...

Topic: Finally!! Broke my stall with Atkins phase 1
It took a solid 2 weeks of Atkins phase 1 (very low carb with no cheating.)   I was considering giving up coffee thinking that was my problem & it wasn't.  The scale started moving again.  I dropped from 263 to 257.4.  I am going to continue the atkins type diet.  I even cut out real milk with my protein powder.  I've been using water and I've been doing well with that.  Basically eating meat, cheese, eggs, fish, shrimp,  hot wings, sausage, bacon, and small amounts of broccoli, non-starchy salads, & veggies (I limit cheese due to constipation.)

I eat absolutely no sugar!  No bread, pasta, cereal,  crackers/chips,  & no alcohol!!  The last time I drank alcohol (about 1 month ago - it started this stall!)  As much as I like to have a couple glasses of wine when freinds are over, it's just not worth it right now.  Maybe when I reach goal or when there is a major holiday, but no more just because of parties or regular gatherings.  I have also been doing elliptical with pretty high intensity & resistance every other day.

I have been using the ketone strips to ensure that I'm in ketosis, (which is the goal for Atkins.)  I was hoping that with the VSG I wouldn't need Atkins, but in my family we are very sensitive to carbs. We have many diabetics in my family & my 43 year old sister is insulin dependent already.  So far I'm not diabetic & I hope it stays that way!  I guess Atkins it will be for me.  That's how I lost my first 150 lbs. way back 6-7 years ago (and kept it off).   If that's what it takes to get me to goal then that's what I'll do!!
  before pre-op diet =  327lbs. SW= 312 lbs. CW=214.6 lbs.

Get better soon

Sunday 1000.  This weekend we're cleaning and organising to move Alex (12) to the upstairs bedroom (bungalow extension on 2 levels).  This will give everyone more privacy and allow us to reorganise the guest bedroom, computer room and gym room....hooray!

1 rasher bacon with 2 scrambled eggs and 1 oz cheese
2 Atkins bars
2 packets Ryvita Minis
4 ozs boiled gammon
Haven't thought of anything for the evening meal yet, but while I'm making Sunday Dinner I plan to make some lamb burgers for meals next week, so it might be...a lamb burger!

My fourth week stalled, GRRRRRR!  Need another 16 pounds to the magic 100 and goal.  Am cutting out 3 ounces of cheese a day to see if that helps, suggestions gratefully received

I'm not going to report cause I'm off lc for today and yesterday.  I've revised my eating plan for the month.  Tomorrow It will be low cal and moderate lc at 25% total calories max.

Next weekend when I cycle the calories back, up I'll cut my carb max down.  My diet needs a shake up.

Feel better!

 Chicken Mac & Cheese Bake

2 cups of macaroni (I use Atkins penne)
3 Tbs. butter
2 Tbs flour (I use Atkins baking mix)
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp onion powder
1tsp hot sauce
1 tsp pepper
2 cups milk (I use Almond milk)
3 small chicken breasts (cooked and baked)
8 oz cheddar or Colby Jack cheese (2 cups shredded or cubed)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Spray 1 1/2 qt casserole dish with nonstick spray

Cook macaroni in salted water according to package directions but reduce cooking time by about 5 minutes

Melt butter in a medium size sauce pan.

On medium-high heat, blend in flour, salt and pepper. Stirring constantly while slowly adding milk

Reduce heat to medium and continue to stir mixture until it is thick and bubbly

Add the chicken, hot sauce and cheese.  Stir until melted

Mix with the cooked macaroni and turn into the casserole dish

Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes

So Sorry you still have the YUCKS  Hope you're feeling better soon.

Today was a beautiful sunny day in the Carolinas.  It was still a little cool for this time of year for us but I will take it considering how much colder it has been.

DH and I took out our motorcycles and enjoyed some of the sunshine until we ran into all the traffic. I think every car in the city was out riding today.

Quest bar and sliced strawberries
Chili (judged a chili cook off)
Venti decaf soy latte
2 "Shout Out" Girl Scout cookies
Lettuce and tomato salad, low carb chicken and mac chicken casserole (posted on recipe thread)
decaf soy latte

I made a mistake eating the cookies and strawberries in the same day.  Carbs bring on the most awful gas for me and boy did I pay!

Hope everyone had a wonderful day!
