I kinda picked all day at mostly low carb stuff with a few snacky carby things in between.
Went to Trader Joe's to pick out some low carb treats. I bought some seaweed snacks for .99. They were pretty tasty. They have 1 carb per serving and 1 gram of fiber so I guess that =0.
They were really good with a little dab of cream cheese on them. Not quite as sturdy as a potato chip for dipping, but can satisfy that need for crunch.
DH and I celebrated Valentines last night. I had gone to the wharf early Sat. morning and bought a couple dozen of the best oysters in the world and 5 lbs of crab legs. I had a very low carb dinner. He opened the oysters for me and I slurped them down.

Topic: New here...Good morning
I had surgery in Dec. 2007. Lost 186 pounds. I have regained 15 lbs and would like to lose it. Thought about WW's but don't think that's the way to go. I will be doing a lot of reading here to catch up. I know I have a Atkins book somewhere, may need to buy another unless you have any suggestions on books to read.
Thanks for any help. Pam

Gammon is a particular cut of bacon or ham, often up to half an inch thick fron the hind leg of the pig. Can be smoked, unsmoked or air-cured, half-round or round. Often served with a slice of pineapple (grilled) or a fried egg or apple sauce. Heaven on a plate! Hope you're recovering....

Stall-breaker!! Hamburger Pie (Whooshie Pie)
2lbs of ground beef(lean)
1- 8oz package of cream cheese
2 tsp yellow mustard
2 tsp horseraddish
garlic powder to taste
salt and pepper to taste
dehydrated onions to taste
Split hamburger into 2 large patties.
Season with salt and pepper, place 1st patty in round pan,
mix remaining ingredients and put over patty,
then top with 2nd patty and seal edges by pinching together.
Season top patty. bake 350 55 min
My whole family loves this. It tastes like a lasagna meatloaf without the noodles. It is thought to break stalls and it seemed to break one for me, one time. Who knows? But either way, we like this one.

Topic: Introduction into this group
Hi,
I had a VSG in October of 2010 and started out on a "regular" diet that included things like Gatorade, cream soups and whatever other carbs I encountered that fit my eating phase. I lost very little weight for a newly post-op person and realized that just because I was eating very little food, did not mean my extreme carb sensitivity had changed. Duh. That was wishful thinking. I knew better. I have only been successful on two diet plans, once the HCG diet, and 10 or more times, Atkins- both are low-carb. HCG is very restricted calorie low-carb plus HCG, for those who may be unfamiliar with the HCG diet. So here I am, living the low-carb life and liking it for the most part. For me, surgery is a great tool, but the low carb diet is the key.
I would like to recommend Linda's low carb websitehttp://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/recipes.html for recipes and Bowulf on youtubehttp://www.youtube.com/user/bowulf for recipes and info on low carb.
I am glad to be a part of this great group and hope to learn from, support and help-out others along my journey.

Thanks...*whispering cause I'm afraid to jinx myself* I believe i have finally gotten carb cleansed enough that I can resist the siren call. Yesterday I was able to turn down the white bun on a hamburger aand tonight I was able to turn down whole wheat flour pancakes that I made DH for dinner.
Big plusses for me. I have been under the spell since Dec 21. God willing,I will be able to keep away from them and have learned a very valuable lesson.
