Hi Kate,

Relax is my best advice.  I lost well during the first month, then only 3 pounds the second month.  I've been a very slow loser but as you can see, I'm getting there a few ounces at a time.

Why don't you join in on the daily CAR thread and write exactly what you're eating, vitamins, fluids, exercise etc.  Then we can see if there's suggestions we can make to help you.

Are you sticking to protein first and filling up on that?  At your stage I was eating pretty much all protein.  My plan calls for eating 3x a day, protein first, then a bite of veggies or fruit.  Write us the amounts of things.  I weigh and measure all my food so that I know what's going into me.

Put your food into myfitnesspal .com  (free) so that you get the breakdown of calories/carbs/protein because those tricky little carbs sneak in.  Are you eating chewy calcium or gummy vitamins?  All carb laden.

Again, relax because you're going to be svelte before you know it!  :)

Tuesday, 2200...

I WANT CHOCOLATE!!!!  Head hunger is trying to take no prisoners.  Having lost 84 pounds and my first surgiversary coming up I don't want any regain.  16 more pounds and I'll be at goal.  I STILL WANT CHOCOLATE!!!!

Since I can't have any chocolate, tomorrow I will have:

2 scrambled eggs and 1 oz cheddar cheese
2 Atkins bars
2 bags Ryvita minis
2 or 3 lamb burgers with onion
May try Stilton butter with Ryvitas if the mood takes me...evil yet so wonderful.
Coffee with cream and fruit teas.

 Hi Lee,
Thanks for sharing your menu. I'm  wondering how keeping your carbs between 5 and15 grams a day is affecting your weight loss. I've kept mine below 20 consistently, and have not seen any loss for weeks, and I'm only 2 1/2 months out from surgery! I'm starting to feel like this isn't going to work for me. I know my ticker reflects a 34 lb. loss since surgery, but I bounce up and down 5 lbs. and right now am at 255. It's making me wonder if I had the right surgery for me. I'm going to take my carbs down even lower like you have and see if that helps. Thanks!

Good morning.
I do have a "fat pouch" that I want to get rid of, and with RH - I do watch my carbs.
Today will be good day - low carbs: protein shakes, shrimps + coctail sauce (some sugar - but not enough to casue a dent), pickles..cheese in low carb wrap....
overall it shall be app 30 gr.

"what is eating me? "

Work, lots of work and little time.
And my house - things are braking down faster than I can fix them.  Cause money i do not have...

Hi Lee, my 1 year appointment is Wednesday! I'm glad you mentioned the problem you are having...I have been having almost the same issue. I get shakey all over and almost a little disoriented. Mom checked my blood sugar during one of the episodes and it was down to 70 and its usually around 95, going to talk to my surgeon about it...not sure why it's happening.

I started Atkins on 1/10/2011 and really took my carbs low, between 5 and 15 a day.  Total carbs, not net.  Last week I started adding a few berries and more veggies.  I've been eating a lot more fish (salmon and tilapia) as well as shrimp done in butter with meyer lemon juice.

Last night i took 1/2 cup of Trader Joe's organic broccoli slaw, and threw it into the shrimp mix.  What a great stir fry type thing it was and very low carb/high fiber.

Sunday night I had a marinated salmon filet from costco, well three ounces of it, but on the side had fresh organic green beans done with toasted sliced almonds.  What a treat it was.

Each of those dinner was followed by 5-10 red raspberries.

It felt like such a treat to see those colors on my plate.  I can so relate to getting bored of hardboiled eggs, chicken, pork chops etc.  Try accessorizing your plate with some good healthy carbs.  It also is amazing for the digestive track.   Good luck and do come by the low carb group to see the daily CAR (carb accountability report) to see what everyone is eating.

Good Morning,

I'm eating lower fat too.  The last several days have been fishy days for me.  I'm trying to drop these pounds and I heard a super model on Oprah say that when she had to drop some weight, they told her fish and water, so I'm a fishy girl right now.

Eating me: 2 things

Surgeon's 1 year anniversary appointment on Thursday and I'm not at goal and feeling really bad about it.  His success goal for me is 175 but I still want to be lower in weight.  When I get so down I focus on the fact that all of my pants are size 10 and I feel pretty darn good.  I'm eating on plan and exercising and that's really all that I can do.

The other thing eating me is that my body is feeling wonky since I went low carb, but it's gotten worse in the last week or so.  The only changes are that I'm eating low carb and trying to swap out my gummy vitamins and chewable calcium for pills so those sugars aren't in my system, though I did order the calcium chews again as the pills make me gag.  Anyhow, last night I got this bout of being so suddenly starving that I almost got the shakes.  I felt like I had an empty pit where my Sleevie generally is.  I'm wondering if it's a blood sugar issue, which is something that I've never had.  Will discuss at Thursday's appointment.
