Oy, I loved the support at WW meetings, but I used their plan to "diet" my way up to 315 pounds. Grrrrrrrrr ..... but like the camaraderie!!!
Hope your Sleevie's feeling better!

Topic: Tuesday? Already? CARb Accountability Roundup
Okay folks, I'm posting this one the night before, because I just know I'm not goin to be up early enough to do it in the morning.
Here's my plan:
B: eggs hollandaise with spinach and lox and LOTS of coffee.
S: little triangles of foil-wrapped cheese, and more coffee (first day of the work week)
L: turkey pastrami and shoulder roast on high-protein bread -- maybe our special rolls?
S: protein bar, in the car; possibly more cheese while at a boring afternoon meeting
D: beef stew with lots of healthy vegetables
Thank you all for posting what you eat, and all the great ideas!!!
My exercise last weekend was working in the new veggie garden I just made. Tried to lift a rain-soggy recycling can of garden waste into one of the beds and fell over, managing to smash a whole row of baby lettuce plants (don't tell anyone). We'll see if they bounce back the way that I did when I realized I was waist-deep in pigeon guano!

So sorry about the cold! There are plenty going around this time of year, unfortunately.
I'm only remarking because of your previous post about not realizing the carbs sneak in ... but you might find a few lurking in your almonds and sf cocoa (so sorry to tell you .... did you know already?)
Isn't eggface's blog amazing? I bet I show up there once a week to find something new.

Well I have to agree, it really IS a dandy and exceptionally helpful bunch of folks we have here!
And I also agree that it can be eye-opening to see how many sneaky carbs there are, in a day!
Just a few weeks ago, a friend was telling me that she is eating low-carb, because she only eats the meat when she goes out to Taco Bell -- and then we discovered that their "taco meat" was actually about 2/3rds oatmeal by weight. Very yummy stuff, but kinda high in the carbs! We don't always realize what we're eating!

Ketostix are a gimmick, in my opinion. They're positive reinforcement for people who need concrete validation that they're on the right track, but they just don't provide reliable feedback in my opinion.
Honestly, I just don't turn the sticks purple. And of course since the sticks are measuring ketones in the urine, if people drink (and excrete) a lot of water that dilutes the ketones -- which would be really a healthy thing to do anyway -- they won't get a ketone reaction on the sticks. Ever.
In short, ketostix are NOT a requirement, or even suggested, for low-carb eating. Frankly, four pounds a month is a healthy loss!!! Keep up the great work!

Here's my report since I just weighed in at Weigh****chers. I basically didn't lose a pound in November and December. Started Low Carb on January 10th and I'm down 6 pounds since starting. After being in that long long plateau, I feel like things are moving for me again.
I'm finding that I'm doing better the last two weeks and the change that I've made is to eat less meat/cheese and adding in more greek yogurt, veggies and berries. I'm eating more carbs but they seem to be fueling me just fine. I'm also getting in more exercise with my back injury healing.
I was feeling good until the last week when my Sleevie is not happy. I think it would be even more unhappy if I were eating the white stuff.
My family is great with it since he's in Manhattan and I'm on the opposite coast. :)

Ok, I feel like total crap and the two of you just cracked me up. I didn't give Sausage and Stilton Balls a second thought until you mentioned it. Just goes to show I'm under the weather to let something like that slide...............

Yeah, I've yet to have a purple stick, even though I'm losing weight :)
The Carb Accountability threads have been eye-openers for me, if only because I didn't realize how many carbs I was *really* taking in, even thought I thought I wasn't.
Thanks so much for your insight--this is such a wonderful group

I'm working on a cold, yuck :( so between that and all the %&!@ snow we've gotten in the past 24 hours, I've wanted nothing more than to dive head-first into a vat of carbs!
B-protein shake
L-protein shake
D-Eggface's crustless quiche recipe, ate about 5
S-10 almonds, sf hot cocoa
Definitely got in my liquids with all the water & tea I've been drinking. I just didn't feel like eating today.

For most of this month, I have kept my carbs under 30, most days under 20. I am losing again after only losing 4# in Jan. Do I really need sticks to see if I am in ketosis? Can't I just keep the carbs low?
