Topic: Arrrrgh -- Need some safe "binge" foods!
Okay friends -- I'm under record levels of stress right now, and I'd rather not binge, but if it turns out that I'm going to -- What's safe?
I was thinking, something that doesn't just "slide" through (eg nothing remotely like crackers, or related to crackers, or that has ever been near, seen or sounded like crackers).
I'm looking into the salty/sweet chocolatey kinds of things. Maybe low-carb PB cookies with cocoa powder?
What are your recvommendations for someone who wants food-related stress relief, but isn't suicidal (with food, or any other medium for that matter).

Very grateful (still ) you formed the group. My body feels much better on a low carb diet. (net low carbs - fiber).
Yesterday was really good. Today will probably be the same.
It helps that I am in love .. food is really not appealing. But having fun and work - and remember to eat - have to eat...
Today is going to be another great day.
Coffee + almond milk
protein cake
yogurt + proteins + flax + blueberries
1/3 cup pumpkin seeds..
some stew... (mystery thing in a jar - defrosted... meat and some non starchy veggies...)
dinner - need to be careful... I am going to a "shake party but the main attraction there are polish style donuts,,, (paczki) and some other carby food... It helps that the lady that is hosting it is a friend - so I can tell her to... #$%***! with the carby stuff.. (she just laughed) and get some cheese and cold cuts... ...
I will get a nice protein ice cream out if that. (the one I volunteer to make..).

Topic: RE: What I'm learning about my body.....
I am currently getting 1400+ on average. Or rather 1600 per day. and then some.
I am not losing or gaining. Most days I do not count calories, but when I do, aim for 1400-1600.
Also I do not exercise a lot. But I do have a heavy-large frame and muscles. I do exercise - but it is not very consistent and no cardio. I have Reactive hypoglycemia and cardio makes my blood sugar drop and then i have to take carbs... etc... so I choose low impact, muscle things: yoga, walking, some isometric muscles exercises. etc.

I can understand wanting the comfort food. I find that I'm having to change what's comfort food for me. Right now, something like chilli really feels like comfort. Higher in carbs than I usually eat but so soothing.

Hi Hala, I'm not sure it works but it is my reality. Yesterday I upped to 1200 calories and was up a pound this morning. I've been experimenting with everything but yesterday was my highest calories in a year. All good calories, no junk, high protein etc.
How many calories do you generally eat in a day?

Topic: RE: Has anyone tried Quest bars? (plus - free samples)
I have tried each flavor. I like the PB one better than the vanilla one.
I ordered the free samples. They didn't arrive so I emailed and got a response but no bars. I emailed again after an email asking if I liked them. I wrote back and said that while I would like to recommend them to friends here at OH, I could not do that if they did not deliver my samples. Shortly after that, they arrived.
Very yummy bars. No chocolate coating or anything. Much like a Larabar except from what I remember of the larabars (several years ago), these are better in flavor. It's a thick chewy bar and I do like that consistancy.

Topic: Thursday Almost-the-Weekend CARb Accountability Roundup!
Hi everyone!
Depressed and anxious about my work life, so going a little harder than I should on the chocolate- or cocoa-ed stuff, but it gets me through the day (unfortunately):
B: eggs hollandaise with spinach and lox (and coffee with unsweetened cocoa powder)
S: triangles of cheese, and coffee with cocoa and sweetener
L: Farmer's cheese and egg, baked with marinara and cheese .... MMmmmmmmmm
S: Anxiety roasted with dread and worry. Or, if that proves untenable, probably a protein shake (chocolate, of course)
D: Something made with ground turkey, served with greenbeans in red sauce, and kabocha squash. Also, since I'm in maintenance -- MANGOES!!!
Howabout you?
