I would like to see the info you have.  My only problem is that once I go off low carb, I have to punish myself with weight gain before I will go back to low carb.  I really need to get more focused with this.  I love the idea of a few high carb days, but I usually go overboard.

As much as I love fat, I don't think I could do that for very long.  I gotta have something to put the fat on!!

Shaking things up really does seem to help with weight loss, and this sounds like a very healthy way to do it!  I'm with you in that I get crazy hungry if I go too long without eating and then WOW, it's like the whole world is my personal table setting.

Something else you might consider is mixing things up with a higher-carb day now and then.  I can't seem to go that far back in the threads right now, but around late December someone posted about:

1)  the atkins FAT FAST; and also
2) low-carb and high-carb cycling ...

Will be back later to see if I can find it, but these both seem to be effective strategies for breaking a low-carb stall.

I don't remember who this was, but they were in a long time stall ,(story of my life) they they started eating this way a certain way, which I can't remember exactly how she broke it up but it is similar to the plan I am going with now.

6 meals a day.

4-150cal, 5gm carb meals a day

and

2-300cal 15gm carb meals a day.

This come out to 1200 cals and 50 carbs.

9am 150cal snack

11am 300 cal lunch

2pm 150 cal snack

5pm 150 cal snack

7pm 300 cal dinner

9pm 150 cal dessert, under 5gms of carbs of course.

in between I try to drink lots of water

I think this helps me knowing I will not have to go more than 3 hrs before I can eat something.  I get crazy real hunger and of course HEAD hunger, so I am trying to satisfy them both at the same time.

This takes more planning and prep than I really want to do, but left to my own devices, I just say the hell with it and eat whatever I want whenever I want.

I know I have blood sugar/insulin issues even though I don't have diabetes.  It runs rampant in my family and I am probably the only one in my immediate family who hasn't developed it yet.

I was taking glucophage for a while and I am thinking about starting back with that in hopes that it will help with the insulin spike issues along with the low carb low calorie diet.  I will probably eat more calories than 1200 a day, but that is my rock bottom I can go in a day.  I will put more emphasis on staying below 50 grams of carbs, damn-it!!

Now I am busy thinking up 150cal low carb snacks.  I am partial to a kamut wheat puff cake with a T of natural peanut butter right now because it is kinda sinful, but not really.

Wish me luck and willpower!

Topic: RE: My little foray into FRUITVILLE!
I think I miss fruit more than potatoes.  I always have lots of fruit in the house, so I just have to look the other way.  Berries and melons are doable in moderation on occasion.  I am going to have some blackberries this weekend because they are on sale and they have lots of fiber.

Such a pity, they are so delish and vitaminy.  But there really isn't any nutrition in them that you can't get in low carb veggies.

You are doing great.
