 Happy Friday Everyone!

I am wrapping up my day here on the east coast while you west coast people are enjoying your late afternoon.

Today was a really odd day for me.  Our temps got up to the mid 80's and beautifully sunny.  But I have felt down and nauseous for most of the afternoon.  Smells especially bothered me today.

coffee-black
adkins protein bar
water
venti decaf americano w/soy and sf cinnamon dulce
coffee-black
steak strips with horseradish sauce
venti iced decaf americano w/soy and sf carmel
decaf coffee-black
protein bar
coffee with creamer and splenda
baby arrowroot cookies (tried to calm my tummy)
water
greek yogurt/protein powder and LC granola-I'm going to try and see if I can tolerate before I
go down for the night

Have a Great evening...........

Based on my dear friend Jan's experience of living in TN, I'm going to guess there aren't a large number of small markets catering to diverse ethnic groups, where you live.  So ... you MIGHT find it at your local grocery store in a section that carries refrigerated Asian foods, OR ... you might decide to order it online from a purveyor such as amazon.com.

Shirataki noodles truly are nifty, and franklky now that I've been eating them for several months, I quite prefer them to regular pasta.  They do NOT get soggy or mush, and they are only ever al dente.  And hardly any carbs?  Perfect!!!!

Interested in low-carb nutrition?  Thinking of trying Atkins? Want to try high-fat and/or high-protein eating?  Whether or not you have had (or are thinking about) WLS   http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/atkins/

I sometimes miss the light dredging in flour for that crispy coating when baking or frying.  With this mix I can get that coating with just 1.5g net carbs per serving.

If you try this please give me your feed back and any improvements you come up with.  No offense taken if its not to your liking and/ or you come up with something better.

Periodically if I can stand the clean up I will fry foods.  However, I miss the light dredging in flour first for that nice crispy coating.  I'm very carb sensitive so I don't waste my limited carbs on things like breading.  I also don't care for the taste of most fat, but a crispy fried fish fillet does it for me sometimes.  Two average fillets of flounder are just 1.5 net carbs.

I'll post this to the recipe thread and to NYtoATL's lc recipe group as well.    Should you try this, please feel free to make improvements and give your feed back.  No offense taken if its not to your liking.  I'm no recipe maven.  I create only out of desperation.

I had lap-band surgery in August of 2010.  I have lost approximately 40lbs (I say approximately cause I fluctuate about 3lbs daily).  Anyway, I have stalled on my weight loss and I know it is because I have not been following a proper eating plan.  I have recently decided the try the Atkins diet, so I am beyond excited to have found this group today!  I have a few friends at work that recently started this diet and they have been incredibly successful.  So, I am looking forward to continuing my WLS journey, hopefully with continued weight loss!

Where do you get the Shirataki noodles?  I haven't seen anything like that in the local grocery store, but I am willing to travel a bit if it means I can have me some spaghetti, lol!

I weigh myself every time I find myself naked.  In the morning before I eat or drink anything, when I get home from work, and before I go to bed.   I just recently got into this habit.  I really need to ride herd on myself and it really helps me, but it ****** me when I don't lose for weeks!!

Thanks, I am having a few slips here and there, but I am going back to THE PLAN at the next meal.  I had to go downtown for a class yesterday and was traveling today, so carbs happen.  Dinner tonight will be low carb and delish.  It is so beautiful out.  I am going to cook on the grill and make a fab salad.
