Atkins and Low Carb Weight Loss
Yesterday was Thursday, Today is Friday CARb Accountability Roundup!
Sorry, couldn't help the reference to Rebecca Black's Friday.
Fun, fun, fun, fun!
Anyway, I have to recommit to low-carbin ttoday, as I do every day. Looking forward to undoing my snickers-bar experience, and moving forward.
What are YOU eating today? (Or, conversely, what's eating YOU?)

I hate to say this, but is this really truly all you are eating today? Because it doesn't look like enough food -- Do you calculate your protein?
And howabout veggies?
Lisa
PS -- Just want to make sure you're healthy! I mean, thin is kewl and all, but not if you're undoing yourself!

Lisa, Thank you for your concern. Actually, I stayed out shopping longer than expected yesterday so my day looked like this:
B- 2 boiled eggs
L- salad and part of a baked potato
D- a whole grilled chicken salad with spinach, cucumbers, bell peppers, red onion, cheese, and black olives. I ate this in three sittings throughout the evening.
This felt like a lot of food to me. Or at least enough. But, to answer your question, no, I don't calculate my protein. My surgeon said I didn't need to. He told me just to eat whatever I want in 4 small meals per day. I know from reading the forums that everyone gets a lot of different instructions from the various doctors. That being said, I do feel like I wasn't getting enough protein and that's why I decided to go low carb. (And the fact that I was gorging on sugar, and wanted to break from it.)
Did your dr tell you to aim for a specific amount of protein? My main goal is to be healthy and fit, not skinny. I will be upping my protein as I am starting weight training to gain muscle. I will start supplementing with protein shakes.
Hopefully, Saturday's plan will be a bit more robust. :) Have a great day! ~Christy

Good Morning!!! Don't get pranked for April Fools. 2 of us in the office have been enjoying (control, alt & then an arrow key) flipping the display on coworkers desktops when they leave them on and unattended. I'm sure it will come back to bite me in the ass but hey - I've raised 2 teenage sons by myself into manhood - I deserve to enjoy a few harmless pranks.
Woke up extremely late this morning but it's still going to be a great day. Nothing like an adrenaline rush to start the day.
Here's the plan:
Commute: Coffee w/ splenda and 1/2 & 1/2
B: Scrambled Egg Beaters
s: Pepperoni & LF Cheese Stick (Pepper Jack)
L: Chili
s: Greek Yogurt
D: Pan Seared Scallops & garden salad
I can't hardly wait until dinner time!!! I love, love, love seafood.

The 5DPT has often helped me revert back to my better habits -- but day 3 is often a killer! How're you feeling?

Happy April Fool's day -- It's already at the point where I'm afraid to open a door in my house! (One kid gerry-rigged my closet with a string trap!)
B: 3 eggs, hollandaise sauce, 1 C asparagus spears, and 1 oz. lox
S: coffee, full cream, SF chocolate syrup
L: 6 oz fried queso fres****ueso blanco is better) with 1/2 C SF marinara
S: parmesan "crackers" with greek yogurt and cucumber, grated carrot
D: vegetable soup, roasted chicken, fresh-picked broccoli, and carrots -- probably also a glass of wine
Expecting my protein count to be about 105, will be trying to boost it higher over the weekend.
