Atkins and Low Carb Weight Loss
Sugar Alcohols - do they cause weight gain?
Some studies have shown that the body treats theses as sugar. Therefore the impact on insulin levels is the same. Other studies contradict this conclusion.
Your best bet in my pov is to make note of how your body reacts to them. I do not gain weight from sugar alcohol nor do they slow my weight loss. However, a banana will ad two pounds within a day or so.
It remains controversial. However, the only thing that matters is how you handle sugar alcohols. They are good for me because I get my sweet fix. For others they are evil.

MSW,
Thank for your response! I've read both sides of the story as well.
I had stopped eating sugar-free chocolate and in the past few days started eating one or two pieces a day (1) to get my sweet fix and (2) in the hopes of getting my sluggish intestines moving again as I've been a bit constipated.
BTW, you look great! :D
