My little foray into FRUITVILLE!

Oh my goodness.  It started with a raspberry.  Then the raspberry wanted company from that plump little blackberry and then they both called out to the strawberry to come have a party.  It was quite sumptuous and delightful.  They wore their most plumpy gorgeous selves so that I couldn't refuse to partake and delight in their natural beauty.   Walking through Whole Foods with them happily riding my cart, they reached out and grabbed that ripe suculant Pineapple, screeching HURRAY!  We're going to make a real party in her mouth for sure.  And did you know that they all thought that a little cutie just had to join the party for the week.  One surely wasn't enough because you know, cuties get lonely when left to their own devices.  So a party it was.  A glorious week of a few berries here and there, followed by a cutie or a taste of pineapple.  They never abused me, never more than 1 or maybe 2 (on a big party day) fruits a day.    They did snicker just a bit when they saw the havoc they were wreaking on myfitnesspal.  Oh my, they jumped up and down with delight at the rising carbs and they smacked my hand everytime I went to log my food on the Atkins group.

And then BAM!  Smackdown at Weigh****chers.  No weight loss.  No surprise here. Those sneakly little carbs had to go live at someone else's house.  They really did cry because there weren't that many and they didn't want to leave my beautiful little kitchen.  They tried to insist that Sleevie would miss them.... NOT.

So after a week of being led astray I'm keeping my eyes focused on the chicken salad and shrimp and eggs and everything protein and I'm not even going to write that sad little "wish you were here" letter to the fruit that went to live upstairs.

Getting to goal is way too important for me to get led astray.

yeap.  They sneak up on you... little buggers...
I have a package of blackberries and 2 boxes of strawberries in my fridge.  I look at them... then pass them on... no.... do not want them... not today.
I probably will freeze the strawberries... or feed them to my BF on Wednesday... at least some of them... lol.

Yup, I just can't buy them. I live alone, so there's no reason to have them in my house.  If I don't see them, I'm good.

Yes, thanks for the reminder.  I used to live on a farm and I always froze tons of blackberries for good eating during the winter.

Good for you evicting that fruit.

Just another reason we need this group so badly on OH.  Think of all the know it alls on other boards who will fight to the death insisting that some fruit could not possibly stop your weight loss or worse provided everthing else stayed constant.  We know better.

There are some things we just have to say bye bye to except for on special occaisions.  Thank God we are taking the time and effort required to learn our bodies so we don't get led astray by message board group think.

I completely agree on needing group support.  Left to my own devices, my head can make up amazing stuff!  Like fruit is very good for me!  The main message boards really just don't get how carb/fruit sensitive some of us really are.

I've got strawberries in the frig and haven't eaten any, but why did I buy them in the first place?  Anyway, i'll freeze them and use them for company or something.  Not many calories, but lots of carbs.  Oh well.
