This is day 12 of my atkins and i have lost a grand total of 5 lbs?  i guess i thought i would lose more since the website and books say up to 15 lbs in two weeks.  I'm asuming its because i only have 18lbs to go to goal and i've already lost 72 since my surgery.  Anyway i feel great.  :o) Jeani

You're spot on about the 5 pounds in 12 days... people just starting on Atkins generally lose the largest amount in the first couple of weeks... mostly the excessve water they've been retaining... but since you're already down 72 pounds, I think you're doing great... nearly 1/2 pound a day!

Thanks,  i was a little worried,  i have been stuck in my weight loss for a couple of months, then i gained 4 lbs and panicked.    i lost the four lbs i had gained last week,  and only one this week with only 2 days left in week two.   I'm a little worried about how much they want us to eat,  not that i can't do it because i can.... but because all the wls stuff you read especially with the sleeve you are supposed to keep cals between 500-800 and i just can't seem to stay that low.  I got really frustrated and decided to try atkins as it sounds great on paper.  Thanks for responding,  i kinda feel out of my element with this as i've never done it before.  Not sure about all the fat they want us to eat   :o) Jeani

I've done Atkins for years... always preop though.... I've considered doing it postop, but I never have.... but now that I've found this group and know that others are successful with the combination of surgery and Atkins, I'm very encouraged.... I've fallen so far off the wagon, but have recommitted myself to taking off the weight that I've regained... I'm starting 2 days of Atkins shakes tomorrow to detox... Atkins is a very familiar "old friend" type of eating plan for me and I'm happy to answer any questions you have (if I can) or just be a support... Lord knows I can use it in return! :-)
