Okay, friends -- it's Sunday Funday!  Been enjoying the kids, working in the garden, and doing a LOT of laundry!  Still, getting back-on-track today after an embarassing incident involving homemade cinnamon-cashew mandel bread (and let's leave it at that).

Today:

B:  Poached eggs (no hollandaise, regrettably) and LOTS of good coffee
S:  Vitamin C water
L: Stilton with apricots (bought two varieties of stilton and some glaucestershire cheese with you in mind, Paul)
S:  Fried queso blanco with eggplant dip
D:  Chicken, kabocha squash, roasted asparagus
S:  Homemade fresh tuna sushi wih avocado

Let's see ... there's French, British, Mexican, American Indian, and Japanese food in my day.  Can anyone top that?

Can't top the world travel thing, but I bet my dinner was yummier . . . okay, I am biased.

B:  bacon, a few blackberries
S:  jerky, chicharones
L:  seaweed wrap, chicken, spicy sprouts, pickled ginger, cheese
D:  ribeye steak, zucchini sauteed in butter with jack cheese and green chilies (YUMMY), steamed broccoli with butter
S:  probably a low carb vanilla protein shake

About 30 net for today

What a neat thing, cookin lessons!  Are these private lessons, or in a group?

Italian meatballs are the one thing that my mother always cooked well.  And to this day, my greatest comfort food in the world is soft, spicy meatballs in a lucious marinara.

OMG, Lisa come to dinner tomorrow night.  Three little luscious meatballs smothered in lucious marinara is the perfect dinner for us.  I totally enjoyed them tonight and will tomorrow and the next and the next.

My good friend Nancy just moved back from Boston, into a condo upstairs from me.  She's the best Italian cook that I know.  She gave me a private cooking lesson at my request because I never met a red sauce that I liked prior to last week at my surgiversary party when a WLS friend brought turkey meatballs to the dinner.  I decided that I just had to learn how to do it.  I've been eating so darn simply since surgery.  No sauces, no nothing.  My life suddenly got a spark of flavor!  :)

I noticed hollandaise sauce in the fridge compartment at trader joe's last week and immediately thought of you.  I thought I'd better get some of that good stuff one of these days.

The TJs refregerator-case hollandaise is my current fave.  They used to have a lower-calorie jarred version, but it didn't hold well on the shelf (I'm told).

A little of that heaven goes a long, long way!  Serving is two tablespoons, and I usually have one T (it's enough for 3 eggs)

Happy surgiversary!
