New here...Good morning

I had surgery in Dec. 2007. Lost 186 pounds. I have regained 15 lbs and would like to lose it. Thought about WW's but don't think that's the way to go. I will be doing a lot of reading here to catch up. I know I have a Atkins book somewhere, may need to buy another unless you have any suggestions on books to read.
Thanks for any help. Pam

Hi Pam,

Welcome to the group!!  Wow on your weight loss and ability to maintain all but those 15 pounds.  What a big accomplishment that is!  I think we all have things to learn from you so I'm glad you're joining us.

I read the Atkin's 1972 edition.  That's the one that counts all carbs before it became "net carbs" etc.  Others have read the other books.  I think the principles are the same. Cut the carbs.  So whatever works for you.

I joined WW last fall because I want another layer of accountability when I get to maintenance.  There's a leader that I really like so I don't mind going to the meetings.  I'm not counting points at this time but I do know what my 29 points look like.  I track my food in myfitnesspal .com because i am still in the counting calories/protein/carbs stage for me as I try to get to goal.

Welcome!!!

Yes the accountability is what keeps me on track. Guess lately not so much. Also thank you for the book info.

Hey there, you are my surgery twin!  I had my RnY in December of 2007, and have lost 165 lbs!

Welcome to our group.  There are several "sticky" threads at the top of the list of discussions, and you will probably find what you need there in terms of information.

Great to have you on board!

Interested in low-carb nutrition?  Thinking of trying Atkins? Want to try high-fat and/or high-protein eating?  Whether or not you have had (or are thinking about) WLS   http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/atkins/

Wow you've done wonderful!
Too funny about the surgery date. Just think we were going through a lot of butterflies on that date. My mouth was so dry going to the hospital I couldn't swallow, LOL.
And thank you for this great board!
