Atkins and Low Carb Weight Loss
Upset stomach and carb cravings...
I had some kind of a stomach virus the past few days and all I wanted to eat was carbs carbs carbs. When my stomach doesn't feel right, I want potatoes and tomatoes. Pasta with marinara always makes my tummy feel better. I know a lot of people say tomatoes give them heartburn, but I am just the opposite. I want any kind of potatoes, with ketchup! Oh, and I want charcoal grilled steak too!
So I put a few of the lbs. back on that I lost while low carbing. I am working my way back to low carbs. I am now craving seafood, so I know my stomach is better and I can go back to low carb.
Do you find it hard to stick to low carb when you are not feeling well? I know that when I have a cold I want citrus and spicy food.

Phyllis, let me be the first to say that eatng to feed your healing is of primary importance. When I am sick or dehydrated, my body craves tomato juice, and my best stomach ache cure is plain yogurt with mashed banana.
When I'm really sick, I don't tend to eat much, and if I'm in the worst of it, I'm too tired to even swallow. I suspect that in the short term, your body is telling you what it needs to get well, and you are doin the right thing by listening to it.
You can always get back on the low-carb wagon when you feel better.
