Hello everyone,

It's raining here in Northern California so I'm catching up on OH.  I was supposed to hike this morning but think I'll get a Mani/Pedi instead.  My challenge of the day is going to be smelling the popcorn in the movies this afternoon.  I'm going to take some cheese to munch on if I need it.

I re-read the Atkins 1972 book last night and I've been back on that version for two days.  I'm feeling great and my hunger left yesterday.  The difference in the 1972 version is that we count all carbs, not net carbs.

My plan for the day is meat, dairy and 1 protein pudding.  I'll come back later with my report.  This week I'm going to focus on feeling satisfied and not so much on the calorie counts. I think I was hungry a lot the last two weeks because protein is higher calorie so I was trying to restrict it more.

What's your plan for the day?

Oh, I am soooo with you on the rain!  I put out 60 cu ft of vegetable garden soil yesterday, and lo and behold nature is watering it for me!  (Wish I had mixed it up better ahead of time, though).  For me, Sunday morning is grocery-shopping time, and now I'm unpacking alll this stuff .... while it rains.  And rains.  And rains!

So far it's been eggs, hollandaise, coffee, and cheese for me ... and I think that's gonna be it the whole day!

GRRRRRR my ketone sticks say I have only a small trace of ketones. I should have more lol. Finally stopped raining over here in Chico. Went for a 3.6 mile run...I don't know why I was so out of it today and couldn't finish the 6.3.  And almost done moving everything in the house! It will be so nice not having to take care of a huge house all by myself...I feel relieved already :)

I never did make it to get a mani/pedi but I got to see the new Javier Bardem movie, Biutiful.  I adore him but it was a very sad, tearful movie.

In random order

1.5 ounces peanuts in the shell in the movies
1 slice thick bacon
4 oz ground beef
1 T sour cream
5 oz ribeye steak

Calories - 691
Protein - 64
Carbs - 7

I'm having that Atkins "I'm not very hungry" day.  I had it yesterday as well.  I'm trying to get in food that's packed with protein but I can see that my totals are low today.  I haven't eaten that steak yet but I'll be sure to get it in as it's still early here.

Hang in there Paul.  Maybe you're getting a lot of sodium?  That ham and cheese may be loaded with it.  I retain fluids really quickly from those type of foods. Also, people talk a lot about stalling from the Atkins bars.  Are you happy with your current weight or still looking to drop a few?
