Atkins and Low Carb Weight Loss
On Staying Accountable Even If You Fall Off the Wagon
The morning started with oat bran (for gut hygiene issues, too delicate to mention here). I brought apple pie in to feed my colleagues (don't want to keep it at home after the holidays) and wound up eating some. Later, was grocery shopping on my way home and picked up some sushi.
Good grief, cereal, apple pie and sushi -- How is THAT for low carb???
But folks, I did keep track of it all on thedailyplate.com and it turns out, folks, that it wasn't so bad. I mean, it wasn't GREAT, but here's the total damage:
1350 Calories
83 grams protein
85 net grams carbs
Okay, not GOOD, but ... while it's true I'm going to have to do a new induction, it's definitely not as catastrophic as I'd thought. I mean, I did get in the protein and I did stay close to a normal calorie range, so I probably didn't bring it all to a screeching halt.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the moral of the lesson is, if a person keeps track of what s/he eats and remains accountable, it can help put things in perspective and keep us from panicking and tossing the whole healthful WOE out the door!!!!
You did great today in keeping the bigger picture in mind. I hope that your "gut" issues are resolved.
The great news is that we get another opportunity to do it again tomorrow.

I hear ya. When off track accounability is most important. I don't track so I can pat myself on the back for having done well. I track so I know when I fkcu up and exactly how badly a cluster fkcu I've made of it.

Thank you for your daily accountability thread, Becky. It really does help me stick to the straight and narrow, and if I can't stick to the straight and narrow at least I always find my way back to the main road!
